I tried it on an Opel Corsa 06', the truth is I didn't see any crazy difference, a little better consumption and a slightly softer noise.
Used in Astra diesel. I didn't notice any sound difference or performance. This doesn't mean it doesn't do its job.... I give it 5 stars because it has a serious name with only quality products.
I installed it in a 2008 clk 200 that I bought from a retiree and the car had been babied. Along with this, I put in oil from the same company 5/40. After 8000 km, conclusions: I check the engine at the traffic lights to see if it has turned off, it raises temperature more slowly, very little difference in consumption.
I installed it in a BMW N53 engine, known for its behavior with oils and leaks. From the very first drive after application, I haven't smelled burnt oil again no matter how much I pushed the car on the road, while in the past 4/5 times when I returned home, I smelled burnt oil from the engine with the oils recommended by the manufacturer (Castrol 5w30).
It's still early, I've only done 100km, the product requires about 800-1000km to take full effect. I will come back in the future!
I used it in an Octavia 20vt, right after I changed the oil. I use synthetic oil 5w40 and after 6000 km it has a consumption of about 800 gr. Exactly the same consumption it had without the addition of ceratec. I must be honest, I did not notice a difference in the sound of the engine but there was a difference in gasoline consumption as it decreased even if just a little.
Top add-on, you immediately see the difference when you start the engine, smooth operation. Perfect!!
If the car doesn't use good oil, you will see a difference and you really need it. In the case we are talking about a car with good oil and you want it for extra protection, you might need to go for superdynamic
In combination with Motul 5w40 in a multijet 1.3, it really calmed the car down. I recommend it UNRESERVEDLY. I also put it in a 1000cc three-cylinder atmospheric C1 for fun, and indeed it uses less oil (well-known engines that consume oil)
It indeed does what it says. I will use it again. The engine noise has decreased, while it seems to have gained a bit of power, e.g., on inclines. The temperature it raises when under strain has improved (on mountain climbs, it exceeded 92) while the gasoline consumption has dropped below the manufacturer's stated amount. (The results are noticeable after several kilometers when it starts to mix well with the oil). It was used in a car from 2000.
In GOLF TSI (2007) that I put (120ml) in the gearbox with a change of lubricants, I saw a big difference in the 1-2 shift that I had an issue with and overall good performance.
In KIA PICANTO (2005) that I put (180ml) in the engine with an oil change, after first doing an engine flush, I didn't notice any significant difference. Now, whether something will change in the long run, I don't know because I haven't driven many kilometers. I will come back if I see improvement, mainly in the noise, because I don't expect miracles in fuel consumption.
I have used it in 2 vehicles, a 1999 Passat 1.6, and a 2000 Yaris 1000cc. In both vehicles, I combined it with Motul 5-40 oil. In both vehicles, I saw a difference, I don't know if it is due to the oil that I changed from Aral 5-40 to Motul 5-40, I don't think so because I have used Motul in the past without this difference. The Motul oil combined with Ceratec does the job. It may be small, but it makes a difference, I feel it both in acceleration and in reducing consumption.
The best thing about it is that it has been tested on an Opel Astra K Diesel and it reduces consumption. It's not particularly noticeable, but the engine is calmer and smoother. If it really does have this coating and reduces friction, only time will tell.
I have installed it in a 1.4 TSI 150HP Turbo car with 150,000 kilometers and it seems to work very well even under pressure conditions. Time will tell.
So far, having done more than 800 kilometers, the only difference seems to be that the engine sound has softened slightly. I have not noticed any differences in fuel consumption.
edit (07/2024): The mileage now is 8000 with cera tec. No issues so far. The previous evaluation remains valid. No significant changes for better or worse were observed. In the 15 years I have had the car, without cera tec, it had the same mechanical behavior.
-----
Only 1000 km have been done with the product installed, so 3 stars ('good') for now.
The engine startup has improved slightly, it catches a bit easier and the chain noise is less audible, probably because it was lubricated more.
The overall sound of the engine remains the same. Some noise from the valves that used to hit (slightly) has decreased in intensity.
As for consumption issues, I didn't notice any improvements or worsenings in oil or gasoline.
I hope to remember and come back when I have done 7-8000 km with cera tec, and later on with more kilometers.
For now, 3 stars not because it's not good, but because it needs some kilometers and time to show if it really delivers what it promises.
I don't know about some people who have positive reviews on how this "thing" worked. I put it in my car as a preventive measure, without having any problems. Occasionally, every 2 oil changes, I would use motorkote and I was very satisfied. I simply tried it because of the positive reviews and because motorkote was priced very high...
Unfortunately, I regretted it as soon as I put it in the oil (after an oil change with Castrol magnetic 10w40, which I always use). The idle of the car became unstable to the point that when I stop the car, it stalls 7 out of 10 times, while when it's cold, it revs up to 2000 RPM at idle..(!!!)
I also noticed that at a steady speed, the car jerks...
Overall, I don't know how to get rid of this thing, and if it has caused damage instead of being good for the car, I definitely do not recommend it and there is no chance I will buy it again!!!
I added it in September to the oil for a Fiat Punto which burns oil in general, and by December everything had run out, almost burned it...
It worked after 3-4K km. The engine sound is the same. What changed is that the vibrations from the struts decreased in intensity. I have not noticed any difference in oil or gasoline consumption.
I put it in fresh oils in a WV 1.4 TSi CAVD engine from 2009 with 120,000 km in November 2023. The engine is well-maintained and in good working condition, with a recent upgrade to the timing system for those who know this particular engine. I took a three-day trip of 1500 km. Besides the sound of the engine working smoother, I also noticed a noticeable improvement in fuel efficiency, which went from 7.5-8 liters per 100 km to 6.5 liters per 100 km on the same trips in the past. I haven't reached the 5000 km mark yet, which is when the material is supposed to start performing and the fuel economy is noticeable. I also got it for my motorcycle (which has a dry clutch BMWR1200R) but I haven't ridden many kilometers yet, and for the farmer, a 2005 NAVARA. I highly recommend it and I will give it 5 stars.
Yes, it is worth its money and improves the engine's performance, it slightly reduces the idle rpm. Tested on a 2005 BMW E60.
Indeed, it reduces the engine noise to a point where you can notice it, but it definitely does not make it completely silent... I did not see any decrease in fuel consumption and from what I can see, there won't be any... Of course, its main purpose is to protect the engine from wear, which will be determined through long-term use and by owners who will keep the car for many years... I installed it in a FIESTA MK6 ECOBOOST!... The car has 80,000 km... I will come back if I notice anything!
I think it's time for an evaluation, after 2000 km that I made with this specific supplement, I saw the engine calming down and having a sweet sound, in the morning during cold start, there is almost no rattling of the valves, at high speeds over 100 km/h the car remains quiet, even at 200 km/h the same result, I highly recommend it. The car is an Audi A3 from '99 with 213,000 kilometers.
I put it in my c180 w203 yesterday and I saw a big difference after a hundred kilometers I drove. The consumption dropped below 6.8, something that had never happened before. It seems to be a little quieter, we will see how it goes over time and I will come back to evaluate it again
I did some research online and decided to get it. If your engine burns oil like crazy, you definitely have a VW engine. Anyway, I have an issue with the springs, the engine burns oil like crazy, I know it needs repair, so I thought, what do I have to lose? The only difference I noticed was a decrease of about 0.5lt/100 in consumption and a slight change in the sound, it became a bit sweeter. That's it, nothing else. Conclusion, if you have high oil consumption and your engine throws unburned gasoline, your engine has a big problem, it's losing compression and needs repair, all these additives do nothing after a while, they are a waste of money.
Application on a boxer engine that had piston knocking. The deposits were removed and the engine quieted down! Attention, good shaking before use and definitely after application, run the engine throughout the RPM range for at least one hour!!!
The truth is, I heard so many good reviews and I decided to try it myself in my car! KIA RIO 1.4 CRDI, I also did an engine flush and then added new oil after about 500 kilometers the engine sounds rougher as if it's not working properly, I won't use it again! Human use and always warm-up!
I put it in a GOLF GTi five-speed with an oil consumption of one liter per 2000 km.. But ultimately the product doesn't work.. Its repair is a dead end...
Hello, I have been using ceratec for years on my 2008 Yaris 1.3cc, which is very well-maintained and in excellent condition with 195,000 km so far. I recommend to all my friends here that I always use Liqui Moly engine and maintenance products, one of which is ceratec. It is an exceptional product, guys. Personally, I was amazed by its amazing performance on the engine in terms of durability and longevity. I have no intention of changing my Yaris because of it. I always do the service at 1,500 km earlier for every oil change, and I always wash the engine with Liqui Moly products. Every 35,000 km, I add ceratec to the oil change, but be careful not to add it too early. Trust me, it doesn't burn a drop, but it changes the behavior of the engine. Everything runs smoothly, it creates a protective film on the engine walls, and it covers the normal tolerances of the engine. I have seen better fuel economy and various other benefits. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT WITHOUT A DOUBT
In a 2017 Fiesta 1240cc with low mileage, it made a noise. I added this specific product along with brand new oils and after 5000km, I didn't see any difference in the noise. Another negative for me is that the oils take on the color of the additive. I bought it because of the good reviews. I will switch back to the additive that I have been using for years and it actually works.
