The doctors do not risk removing the bullet from Tommy's head, and he cannot come to terms with it. It bothers him. He cannot understand why he was on Kazakos' path that night. Why didn't he run when he saw the gun aimed at his head? And what did God do? Why did He leave him unprotected? Why did He let him come to Athens? Why didn't He push him to leave for London sooner, since that's where he wanted to go from the start? Now everything is tangled. Everything has stopped. The dreams and the plans.
