A historical novel of the broader Northern Greek region through the chronicle of two families spanning three entire generations. From Eastern Rumelia and Adrianople at the end of the 19th century and from the burnt villages of ethnic conflicts in Macedonia of the same era, to present-day Thessaloniki, the wars, the refugee crisis, the sweat, and the passions of so many years come to a head in the meeting of a man and a woman during a three-day heatwave in August under strange circumstances.
It is also an epic novel of the struggle of daily life, as well as an elegy of the "failures," of love, and of the passing time. But more than anything, it is the extensive novel of Thessaloniki. Its buildings, streets, hangouts, corners, outskirts, the entire skin of the city, bearing the imprint of an entire century.
