The first ancient Greek Gods PLAYMOBIL were released in 2016. In 2018, after studies and contributions from archaeologists and educators, the collectible set of the twelve Olympian gods was completed. Long-term research was applied in the creation of the figures to ensure the result was representative according to historical data. In 2019, the remaining six gods were released, completing the twelve gods.

Pluto, god of the Underworld, abducted Persephone, daughter of Demeter, causing great turmoil. Demeter began a journey searching for her daughter, reaching Eleusis, where she was hosted by King Celeus. To repay the hospitality, she taught the Eleusinian Mysteries, while her misery due to her daughter's absence caused great famine and diseases on earth.

According to the myth, the gods obliged Pluto to allow Persephone to stay with her mother for some months of the year. Thus, when they are together, we have Spring and Summer, while when she returns to Hades, we have Autumn and Winter, explaining the change of seasons.
