Description
Thirty threatening cliffs surround the island of Sarek in Brittany. Its cautious inhabitants call it "The Island with the Thirty Coffins". A terrifying legend haunts everyone's thoughts: thirty people must die and among them four women will be led to the cross. Veronique d'Erzemon goes to the island to search for her son after fourteen whole years. There, she encounters a series of unpleasant surprises: she will discover her initials engraved on doors and chapels and she will recognize her own figure on a drawing representing a crucified woman!
The eerie atmosphere of Celtic myths, the "Stone of the God that gives life or takes it", the blood-soaked prophecy, the twisted Count Vorski provoke terror and anguish.
Fortunately, Arsene Lupin, along with a little dog named "All Good", is there to confront the curse!
In this fantastic novel by Maurice Leblanc, the suspense and the impeccable direction of the plot on the ruined and wild island of Sarek lead to an imaginative and cheerful ending.
