Former owner of the base for about 6 months, it is indeed stable as a base when combined with the straps, but it does not fit very large phones with a case (I happened to change my phone during this period and it only fit when I removed the case) and the mechanism that opens and closes and holds the phone broke. Also, a friend who bought the same base, influenced by me, had the exact same issue.

I was looking for an affordable solution for a mobile phone holder that I use as a GPS on my motorcycle. I didn't want it to be a 10 euro one and I found this. As for the positives, it screws well onto the handlebar and its rotating clamp (which adjusts the tilt) is good. Its front panel is detachable. In terms of build quality, I would say it is slightly better than the 10 euro plastic ones, although its clamps do not inspire great confidence. Nevertheless (and with the included rubber), my phone has not fallen off even at relatively high speeds. The big problem with this type of holder (unlike the x-grip ones) is that if you have a larger phone, you're out of luck because they only fit up to a certain size. Otherwise, it is a relatively decent solution, although personally, I should have gotten the ram x-grip, which, despite being more expensive, is ultimately the only one worth it.
