[If you are too lazy to read the details, then go straight to the summary below].
Well, I bought this tire for a 2004 Toyota Corolla E12 (1.6 lt / 110hp). After several recommendations, I decided to put on this infamous tire. Let's start from the beginning, when I first wore them, I was quite satisfied as I had 5-year-old tires (without having done more than 25,000 km) and the difference was obviously chaotic. However, as time went on, I noticed a decline in quality and characteristics. I ended up driving 36,000 km in exactly 2 years, until I replaced them with FALKEN SN110 of the same dimensions. For me, the major drawbacks of the T005 are the following:
    - MEDIOCRE braking on dry and wet roads as the kilometers pass (specifically from 20,000 km onwards), while they promise excellent braking combined with a lifespan of up to 40,000 km. Clearly, I wouldn't go for 40,000 km with these unless I wanted to crash in a turn.
    - VERY fast tread wear. By saying this, I don't mean that the tread flew off, but rather that the lips on the sides wore out and it would slip annoyingly during every start from a traffic light or stop if I pressed the accelerator a little more.
    - Although it is not a racing or performance tire (nor is my car), I wouldn't say that I am very satisfied with the grip in turns and sudden changes in direction. Initially, they were satisfactory, but after 20,000 km, problems arose on the surface. In fact, I had an accident worth 1,000 euros (Rear Wing Door) because in a relatively mild turn at 40 km/h, the car skidded and went off the road due to the tires and not due to a slippery road (the tires were at 33,000 km at that time). This is unacceptable in my opinion.
    - LASTLY and most importantly, this tire has nothing to do with its PREDECESSOR, the TURANZA T001. The reason is simple and obvious: SIDEWALL THICKNESS. The T005 is nothing more than a BICYCLE TIRE. If you grab the tire, put it on a rim, and squeeze it on the side to see how hard the profile is, you will truly think that you bought a BICYCLE TIRE. It has NO COMPARISON to the Falken SN110 that I just put on. The FALKEN tire is truly hard and obedient. In fact, my TURANZA had a blowout 4 months ago due to contact with the curb, which forced me to replace it with a used one.
==> To not ramble on any longer, I don't want to be subjective, so I will say briefly that it is a good tire, as long as you know what you need it for. As someone who used it intensively and demanded a lot, in cold/hot, dry/wet, slow/fast conditions, and MANY KILOMETERS, I can't say that it satisfied me. If it is intended for a more relaxed driver with calm driving and few kilometers per year, then it is suitable. However, it is definitely NOT worth the money it costs. I consider it overpriced. The decision is yours...

I have done about 23,000 kilometers with these tires.
The positives are mainly on wet roads. On dry roads, they are just satisfactory with a poor performance on puddles.
As for the negatives, the rolling noise is loud

  • They hit incredibly hard on potholes and generally on road defects. I regret putting them on.
