Very good multimeter and excellent value-for-money (I bought it for €12.59) for the amateur, hobbyist, home use. The entire UT131 series from Uni-T is very good for home/amateur use. I tested it against another (more expensive) multimeter that I also have, and the measurements were the same. I got it because I wanted a small, convenient, portable multimeter to take with me. I believe it is a very useful tool.
I like the excellent, red, rubber protective casing of the multimeter that it has. It is very flexible and fully protects it from accidental drops or bumps. And if you want, it can be easily removed (see photo). Overall, as a device, it seems quite protected. I also like that the probes have a protective cap to cover them when not in use (see photo).
WARNING: The UT131x series has 4 models, the UT131A/B/C/D. I bought the “B” because I mainly use it to test voltages in batteries. The difference between the UT131B and the UT131C is that the “B” tests batteries up to 12V (and car batteries), but does NOT measure temperatures. In contrast, the UT131C measures temperatures but does NOT test batteries. See the relevant table in the photos I uploaded. So be VERY careful about what you want to do and which model of the series you choose.
NEGATIVE: The only negative point I will mention is that the packaging does not include a case. If it came with a case, it would be close to “perfect.” But when you only pay €12.59 to buy it, I can't complain.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the choice and I highly recommend it. It is a very good tool, small, portable, with many features. And at €12.59, excellent value-for-money for the amateur.
Definitely worth it for its price for amateur use, but something is wrong with the measurement of amps. While the reading should show 2 amps, it shows much lower values. Also, it seems that from 10 to 200m and to 200μ, the number is 10 times smaller instead of 1000 times smaller, which is what m and μ (meaning milli=thousandth and micro=millionth) represent.
Good in terms of functionality and very convenient size, but in less than half a year the switch stopped working and it doesn't go into the desired mode, but instead goes into random modes, and sometimes it cuts off the power immediately after selecting a mode. It's a good toy, but it's not a reliable tool.
I got it for the IEK. It was used for counting some computer power supplies. Everything is perfect. A nice bonus is that the batteries are alkaline, so they are easily replaceable!
Very good for its price, whether it is for an amateur or a professional, the measurements it takes are very good and accurate. Due to its size, it is convenient to always have it in your bag.
I am an electrician and it is quite decent for its price, of course. In the category of 10 euros, I highly recommend it! Perfect for an amateur, for someone who just wants to have one in their toolbox, or as a third+ extra multimeter. However, not for someone who wants to seriously engage and is looking for a main or second multimeter, even if they are a beginner or a student, I would recommend them to look at something at least 50 euros! It is quite sturdy, you don't have to worry about it falling off the bench, approved by Intertek. It has supports for the probes and a fastening to attach a strap to hang it on the belt. Very nice stable stand and clear illuminated screen from various angles. It is CAT II, so it is not recommended for electrical work, only up to 250V! Quite expensive for the category and a well-designed circuit board for 10 euros.
Crazy value for money. Very good and user-friendly multimeter. Easily comparable to expensive multimeters. It paid for itself just from the batteries I measured before throwing them away
Very good product with reliable measurements. I have checked it with a professional one. It's not the top, but it does its job excellently at a very low price
Sturdy construction, clear letters and indicators. Comes with measuring clips. However, I was disappointed because from the first use it showed a problem with resistance measurement (stuck on OL). I need to build a project for school and now I will have to borrow a multimeter from somewhere else. If it's my mistake, I will come back to change the rating, otherwise it's a waste of money...
I am not an electrician but a multimeter is needed everywhere.
It has a large screen, it looks sturdy, and it has a nice case that presumably protects it from falls.
So far, 5 stars
A very good solution for hobbyists who do not want detailed measurements. Very affordable and will definitely satisfy the most demanding hobbyists. I recommend it as a beginner multimeter.
I do not have much experience with multimeters, but I know that this particular product is great value for money. The price is nice for entry-level users who do not necessarily need other, more professional features. I find the terminals satisfactory.
Personally, I found the addition of the battery rating useful (although from what I understand, it could already be covered by the Volt measurements). There is a model in this series (I think the UT131C) that replaces this extra function with temperature measurement, so if you can find it, that option is also available.
I am not an electrician, but in my profession sometimes I need to find power outlets, if a cable has been cut and measure, so I bought a "cheap" one encouraged by the reviews on skroutz.
Wonderful product and particularly sturdy, with a nice and solid case that at first I thought was the device itself, but the red part is the case!! I should add that due to my lack of knowledge in the field (we all start somewhere :) ), in a random check instead of putting the meter on alternating current to check a power outlet, I had it on continuous current, which caused the house's relay to trip. At first I thought I broke-burned the meter, but luckily it has fuses, for the left side of the indicators one by one for the right. I hope I helped.
A very good multimeter for amateur use without rival at 10€-15€... precise measurements. The terminals bothered me a little, but I didn't expect anything better
Quality product. If you can, prefer the next model that also has a temperature indicator. Convenient cables. It has a stand and a light that turns off by itself.
I use it for amateur use in Arduino/ESP32/Raspberry constructions, etc
After 6 months of amateur use, the product is excellent and high-quality for its price. The illuminated screen and separate measurement of 1.5V batteries are its advantages. It is highly recommended.
