Description

CoolerMaster Masterair G100M CPU Cooler (MAM-G1CN-924PC-R1)

The MasterAir G100M's Heat column technology includes a copper heat column placed at the center of the concentric design, ensuring the processor's cooling by making direct contact with its lid. The height of the copper cylinder is 46.3mm while the overall top-down cooler does not exceed 74.5mm, making it ideal for Mini-ITX builds. It also incorporates RGB lighting that runs from the provided controller. The controller features a total of six effects that beautifully diffuse into the 92mm fan, which spins up to 2400 RPM.

  • CPU socket: Intel LGA 2066 / 2011-3 / 2011 / 1151 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 775 socket, AMD AM4 / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / AM2 / FM2+ / FM2 / FM1 socket.
  • Dimensions: 145 x 145 x 74.5 mm.
  • Heat sink dimensions: 143 x 143 x 51.7 mm.
  • Heat sink material: Heat Column / Aluminum fins.
  • Heat sink weight: 320 g.
  • Heat column dimensions: Φ41.2x46.3 mm.
  • Fan dimensions: 92 x 92 x 25 mm.
  • Fan speed: 600-2400 RPM (PWM) ± 10%.
  • Fan air flow: 22.63 CFM ± 10%.
  • Fan air pressure: 1.6 mmH2O ± 10%.
  • Fan MTTF: 280,000 hrs.
  • LED color: RGB ready.
  • Fan noise level: 30 dBA (Max).
  • Fan connector: 4-Pin (PWM).
  • Fan rated voltage: 12 VDC.
  • Fan rated current: 0.34 A.
  • Fan safety current: 0.37 A.

The Intel Xeon X3470 breathed new life into it! (We're talking about a substitute - 1st generation equivalent of the i7-970, and therefore with a considerable heat load, with a declared 95tdp, but the 130 cushion provided by the cooler is preferable.)

I had limited space because I was determined to build a low-profile build, so I had an Intel stock cooler installed (clearly inadequate, as it was designed for the corresponding i3), and the options to replace it were few, and I can say that this particular one stood out as the best. (Among other more expensive options, the Noctua NH-L9i was only worth the same price of 40€, but it is not designed for such a high tdp.)

I may rate the size of the cooler conservatively, as although the dimensions are clearly stated on the Cooler Master's page, this bulky thing on top of the fan, although charming (resembling a UFO), changed my plans quite a bit.

It remains the best possible choice for a demanding processor, and I am fully satisfied, but I want to draw attention to this bulky thing, so that no one else struggles with the same project. (Otherwise, for a low-profile build, but with low tdp, I recommend the Noctua NH-L9i, due to its clearly more ergonomic volume management.)

So, if you choose it, like I did, leave an extra centimeter at least (even more if possible, for better air flow), so that you don't have to readjust your build.

Finally, the positives include the RGB - no other low-profile cooler has it, but the only control is manual with buttons (no software), so you will have to decide what color you want and either keep the controller inside your case or find a way to remove it (a difficult task, as it has cables on both sides).

Summary: Truly value for money at 40€, especially since it cools demanding loads (up to 130tdp) and has RGB, but be careful to have enough space to install it. (Including, perhaps, any possible interference with the nearest RAM memory!)

The cooler is bulky, especially for a mini ITX motherboard. Its installation is not particularly difficult if you follow the instructions, but it doesn't cool as much as I would expect. The processor reaches temperatures of 50-61 degrees in idle state, however, with heavy usage (I haven't tried it in overclock mode yet), it reaches up to 70 degrees. So, I would say it's decent for its price

The best and most beautiful cooler for 40 euros.
    Fits everywhere.
Has RGB and is very impressive and completely silent.
5 out of 5 from me.
(Also, you don't need to worry about your CPU because this cooler is compatible with all processors.)
