It is very matte, so it is the best if you hate shining. I return to this cream every summer for the last 3 years and sometimes even in winter if I don't have dryness. It is matte for hours (at least 6 hours, maybe even 12 sometimes if you don't sweat on your face). I have combination skin but I generally don't like to have shine on my face at all, especially on the forehead, and it is the only product that does not make my skin oily afterwards. I have tried oil-free creams for oily skin from apivita (aqua bee licious gel), La Roche mattifying gel, etc. All of them after a few hours either shine or make patches or with sweat you will look oily. This one does not!!
As for hydration, I don't know how hydrating it is because I mainly use it in the summer when the need for hydration is a little less. Surely on dry skin it will make the skin look somewhat dehydrated, meaning that every time I use it in winter, I might see that the fine lines on the forehead stand out a little more because they do not "fill up" with hydration. But generally for a matte result, it is the best cream. It does what it promises and I buy it constantly, even if in between I try others that promise the same things, but they don't.
Fantastic moisturizer for oily skin!! It absorbs the oiliness and leaves a matte finish. It is also ideal for acne-prone skin and only needs a pea-sized amount to cover the entire face.
The worst cream I have ever used! I have oily acne-prone skin and it doesn't absorb any of the oiliness and it has the worst smell that doesn't go away even after hours and people can smell it when they come close to you! It's terrible and of course I won't buy it again, there are much better ones with much less money. Overall, it's an overrated company
