The sound is definitely among the top as long as your speakers are of good quality. I use it with Celestion Blue and an open-back cabinet, and if I want a vintage sound, I use Creamback for rhythm and Vintage30 for solo in a closed-back cabinet. I had a malfunction in a switch on the circuit board which was fixed with a little spray of WD-40 contact lubricant. I use Shure 57 on-axis microphones and T-bone 1100 for off-axis or Neumann 102, both are top-notch. It is very powerful and suitable for live performances in venues. I have had it for about 3 years and recently replaced the tubes with Philips EL34, which are the only ones that worked properly in both clean and gain channels. Although I believe Electro Harmonix would also be good, I haven't tried them but I trust them! For the 12AX7 tubes, I used a combination of Philips, GT, and Electro Harmonix, which resulted in a professional sound. I recommend adding brass shielding to the tubes for a clearer sound. It is easily upgradable because it only has 5 tubes. For me, it is the best. If you also add a good pedalboard in the loop, you will have more options and greater convenience, but it requires good cables because there is already some hum in this amplifier.

I have had this amplifier for about seven months. I use it for rehearsals with drums and the rest of the band members use cabinets and speakers for vocals, etc. The sound is warm and mainly lively, like a Marshall. With a drive in front, it kills. The best amplifier I have in terms of quality and price. Just like anything else, it takes a little time to explore. Besides, there are many videos and reviews about this specific amplifier that you can watch. This is my personal opinion, one of the best choices for the money. Even at 10 watts, it is quite powerful for home use, and as mentioned by the friend above, this one needs "opening up." If you want it for home use, it's better to check out the 5 or 1 Watt DSL.

The clean is okay - nothing special. Where things go really wrong is in the gain channel. Especially at low home volumes (10w setting), it fizzles excessively and sounds terrible. Also, the mids don't come together no matter how much I played with the EQ. As a tube amp, it needs to be cranked up in volume to "give" what it wants, but for me, the sound was unacceptable. I returned it as soon as I got it. With a little more money, I would recommend the Orange Dark Terror or the Peavey 6505 MH (which I ended up getting and it rocks - very good sound even at bedroom volumes). Even the small Orange Micro Dark is much better at low volumes with the gain turned up.

I have the Marshall DSL 20 for about two weeks...and it is connected to a Harley Benton cabinet with a Celestion V speaker 12". It is amazing for classic rock and classic metal like Sabbath, Dio, Iron Maiden...it has the overall original Marshall sound...if you love Marshall, get one without hesitation...I personally bought this amplifier from Thomann for €370 as I see that the prices in local stores are unacceptable. Therefore, I recommend ordering it from Thomann as well...as for the technical specifications, it has 3 ECC83 preamp tubes and 2 EL34 power tubes...you can also later replace them with JJ tubes for better sound, as when you turn the gain all the way up, it sounds a bit like having a fuzz pedal...the effects loop is very good as it should be, and it also comes with a high-quality metal footswitch...in conclusion, if you are a rocker and a classic metal fan from the 80s and 90s, it is exactly what you need...but if you are looking for a modern metal sound in this 20-watt category, I recommend the Laney IRT Studio
