The hAP ac² is an access point that provides Wi-Fi coverage for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies simultaneously. Five Gigabit Ethernet ports for your wired devices, the USB can be used for external storage or 4G/LTE modem, and the device supports IPsec hardware acceleration.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Bought as my first serious router to replace the provider's equipment. Like all Mikrotik devices, it works wonders as long as you have the enthusiasm and passion for researching and reading.
It is the best in its category. It supports from a home to a small business. Knowledge of computer networks and general experience in configuring Mikrotik devices is required for its installation.
Before upgrading to Rb450gx4, this specific machine was running 2 wan load balancing, queue tree, and VPN zerotier. It served clients from 2 houses with 3 vlans, totaling the network along with computers, printers, air conditioners, tablets, and mobile phones, 30+ devices. When we had guests for parties, etc., it reached 50+ clients.
All of this was not enough to fill up the total memory, and the processor barely reached 20% at maximum!! It could even handle it in a hotel! Out of the 220,000 connections it supports, I didn't go over 17,000!
Imagine what the Ac^2 does (I bought it for 70 euros) if it does what I described to you, what magic does the Ac^3 do!!!
Experts, no matter how much it costs, will buy it with closed eyes.
However, it's not for everyone. For example, Xiaomi with a simple menu.
It has router os.
People with basic knowledge may want something simpler.
I had it as a router in front of the speedport with pppoe passthrough. After about two years, it completely broke, the lights turn on normally but neither winbox nor anything recognizes it. :/
Very good router, of course it requires some additional networking knowledge if someone wants to take full advantage of it. The range of the 5GHz network could be slightly better.
For anyone who doesn't know Mikrotik, it's overkill. They will only use 1% of its capabilities. However, for what it offers, it is very competitively priced and extremely reliable.
I have set up 3 VLANs and 2 WANs with load balancing, openvpn, and ipsec ikev2, and some queues for traffic shaping and connection sharing, and the CPU usage doesn't go above 20%.
For anyone who wants to create mangle rules for traffic priority, etc., the router easily handles a 200/20 connection with a maximum CPU load of 45%.
The MikroTik is as expected, meaning it requires knowledge for its installation. I got it to learn, even at home, the functionality of VLAN and VPN, as well as Load Balance, something that is supported by its RouterOS operating system. The only questionable thing, if I can say so, is that its Wi-Fi range is at the levels of classic routers and supports up to Wi-Fi 5. Perhaps for this reason, I would recommend someone, IF they want to use Wi-Fi, to turn to the better option of hap c 3.
Simply wonderful. I connected the ethernet from the regular router to port 1 (it says that's where the internet input should be) and simply connected to its settings to change the password & SSID. It works perfectly. The only thing I would put as a negative is that the lights corresponding to the ports are not particularly bright, the light is barely visible. Speed test on its own wifi is exactly the same as the speed of the ethernet directly from the original router of Cosmote. Connected devices: 1 macbook over wifi, 1 iMac over wifi, iPhone, smart TV, 4 smart plugs, 1 smart light bulb, 1 Polycom voip phone with a line for America (I don't know if it makes a difference). Everything worked fine, although I will make sure to use ethernet cables for the computers. Worth it!
Starting by clarifying that this is not a router for regular users. I have CCNA and it still took me 2-3 attempts to achieve the desired configuration. On the other hand, its features, the range it has (it reaches 10 meters with 2 intermediate walls on 5GHz and 30 meters with 4 walls on 2.4GHz!), and the fact that you can set up whatever you want on it (VPN/Load Balancer/etc.) make it the best value for money option for home use. Extra Tip: on the USB port, you can share a USB stick (or an externally powered hard drive) on the network OR connect a 4G USB modem (and even use Android USB tethering) and use it as a 4G router!
For how much it costs, it is an excellent tool. The only thing that is a bit difficult and maybe someone will have to search a little online is its setup, which is a bit mysterious.
Apart from that, you won't find anything better for the money. I am completely satisfied with both the speed and the range. It covers a whole 100m2 house, giving 100/100 everywhere.
It is stable and fast. Unfortunately, when I upgraded to version 7.1, it failed. To reset the firmware, you need a tool that only runs on Windows. I gave it 4 stars due to lack of support for Linux/Mac OS.
I have already bought three. It is a top product due to its customization capabilities, but always for an experienced user. As mentioned in other reviews, it is not plug n play. For a user experienced in networks, I highly recommend it without hesitation. It goes without saying that it is value for money. If I had to mention something negative, it might be the range of the wifi on both bands. Even a wall significantly affects its range (5GHz only in line of sight, forget about it behind a wall). Finally, it heats up worryingly, but the manufacturer states that it is acceptable.
It is very good, and for those who say it is not plug and play, I don't know exactly what they mean, I didn't make any settings, I connected it with ethernet to the ISP's router and from there I only changed the SSID name and password on the 2 networks it broadcasts. No other customization was needed. It works consistently and flawlessly so far. Maybe you can do a lot if you tweak it, but even if you have no idea, it can still serve you well.
Let me not repeat that it is an amazing tool, commendable, awesome vfm, tremendous capabilities, etc. I am writing just to emphasize that for the average user who thinks that they will simply connect it in place of their router and play... it doesn't work. It is not a modem, it is a router and moreover with very advanced capabilities. You can't exactly call it "user friendly" or "user intuitive". An experienced user will do amazing things. But not a regular home user.
Generally, the company's products are not playable!
I have had this specific one for a year and a half and it doesn't fit anywhere.
The best thing, at least in the role of an AP behind the ISP modem.
For configuration, and to fully exploit its functions, at least basic knowledge of IP networks is required.
It is the best money I have spent on a network product.
Endless capabilities.
Construction material that even big companies would envy.
I use it as an access point with the ASUS DSL-AC68U, which I have set up on the 5G wifi.
I have 3 PCs (2 gaming and 1 work laptop) and 1 HP printer connected through gigabit ethernet. The ping on the gaming PCs feels like they are directly connected to the main router.
The laptop is always on with a VPN and it has not disconnected once. I have also activated the Dude (network monitor) and I can monitor my network at any time.
The Note 10 plus shows 866 on the second 5G network I have created, and it is indeed that fast. In a speed test, it showed me 49/5 on VDSL 50/5.
Best network product!
Whoever desires an exceptional AP is ideal. It is not easily customizable for beginners, but it has amazing capabilities, stability, excellent range, and speed. Beautiful construction that can easily fit into the living room.
I believe it is the best available. Simple to set up but also incredibly customizable for someone with knowledge.
The little machine is simply amazing, I'm currently using it as a wifi ap and as a switch. As someone who also has other Mikrotik devices, I found it useful that it can also work with the dude server, but the internal memory is not enough and it requires something on USB to store the database. The small internal memory is a disadvantage because we can't install packages, but that doesn't bother me. For its price, it's an excellent purchase, but for ROS experts.
Unbelievable capabilities for its price, google RouterOS. Suitable only for knowledgeable individuals.
The little router is unbeatable. It really is the best value for money and the options it offers are incredible. I won't go into analysis since it has endless material. Anyone who has worked with RouterOS understands what I mean. It takes time to learn its UI, but you can do wonders with it and it is really fast and trouble-free in all areas. I don't recommend it for people looking for something "plug & play," but for people looking for something more in their internal network and have the time and desire to deal with it.
The tool is doing wonders!!

Top recommended. Too many functions in the interface.
Very good router but I do not recommend it for beginners.
