Its packaging is great, and the manual is quite useful for the extender installation.
When opening the TP-Link Tether app, the installation seemed very easy at first, but I encountered a problem with recognizing the password I had set. I still haven't solved it because I connected it to the computer via Ethernet, due to its relatively distant location from the modem.

Its application guides you to the ideal placement (locator assistant) for the best result. Very easy installation from mobile via the tplink app. The signal coverage is sufficient even for the ground floor, i.e. under the floorboard. Additionally, the application allows you to program it to automatically turn on/off whenever you want and with different schedules per day/hour. Perfect!

- either as a wifi extender,
- or if a device doesn't have wifi and you want to connect it via wifi because it only has ethernet, then you simply connect the device you want with the tplink using ethernet,

I use it to send the signal from the router on the upper floor, where it is located, to the ground floor so that there is a signal there as well.
The result is a satisfactory wifi signal without interruptions, but with significantly reduced data transmission speed. Although it says in the instructions that if the light is red, there is no signal anymore, this does not apply to me. I've had it for 2 years and it has never worked, constant disconnections. As for the app, it's easy to use for setup but quite slow! Spend a little more and buy something like Ubiquiti for better results.

I can say that it works in terms of range, but I have the feeling that there isn't a big difference, even when I moved the router closer to my laptop. In this particular case, I simply connected directly to the router instead of using the extender since it ultimately had a better signal. I think it works better as a hotspot to handle more connected devices rather than as a solution for range issues.

Installation is very easy and fast!What I would like to add is a few words that might help some undecided people.
- It was installed in a maisonette. Now the router is on the first floor while the extender is on the ground floor. At first glance, it seems quite fast. However, I don't know if it is capable and powerful enough for streaming, downloading, etc. For light use, it runs without any problems and the signal is full. (I hope to update the review in the future if I discover something new)
- To connect the extender, it needs to be connected to the WiFi, so in case you are also "playing" with the signal on the floors, this might be your biggest issue. Clearly, if I tried to put the extender in the basement, it wouldn't work. In the end, both devices were placed on the same side of the house, each on its own floor and close to the window! I also noticed that the extender had a weaker signal than the mobile phone (the first placement point didn't work for this reason)
- The extender automatically carries the router's password. If you change it, it will be automatically updated.

I have installed it at my sister's house while I live at a distance of about 12 to 13 meters with some obstacles like walls in between. I live in a two-story apartment but don't have a telephone line, so I put it at my sister's house. Before buying it, I had issues like signal interruptions, very slow speed, disconnections, etc. I did a speed test and it was terrible, not even close to the limit. But after installing it, I noticed a huge difference. The signal is now very fast without any interruptions. I can open YouTube and play movies without any buffering. Before, I couldn't even listen to YouTube without interruptions and it took a long time to load videos. I am satisfied and highly recommend it. It's worth it!

The range is quite satisfactory, my main router is on the ground floor and it reaches about 27 Mbps, and the extender was placed on the first floor (the distance is small though) with a speed of about 20 Mbps.
The speed is relatively stable, of course when multiple devices are connected it doesn't perform optimally, but for its price it does its job and more!

The difference with the older one is that the antennas do not make many movements (little importance) but the most important thing is that the new network it creates has a different name from the existing one.
