A quite expensive lens that is worth its money only if we are going to use it for work. For anyone involved in jewelry photography, it is just what they need. However, it is not a good choice for portraits at weddings and baptisms because the more difficult the lighting conditions, the slower it becomes. Of course, I compare it, in this aspect, with the 50f/2 and the 23f/2 that are outstanding. At first, I bought it for 3-4 jewelry photoshoots that I have every year. However, fate had something different in store for it. When I haven't booked my own job as a photographer (weddings - baptisms), I help some friends as a second videographer. All these years, I used Nikon D610 or D850 with the Nikkor 70-200mmF2.8. My job is to deliver clips (a few seconds long) with details to complement and connect with the main footage from the main video. Since I bought the XF80mmF2.8, I have become a regular in their team and our main complaint is when I have booked my own jobs and can't help them. As for the lens, before buying it, we should keep in mind that its main accessory, apart from the camera, is the tripod. NO video monopod!!! Only with a tripod!!! Wherever we go, whatever we do, photos or video clips, camera-lens screwed onto a tripod! I forgot to mention that the weight is reasonable for this type of lens and that there is a strange noise-shaking-bumping from the mechanism inside the lens. It is not something to worry about, nothing is broken inside, and as soon as it focuses, nothing moves. It doesn't bother me, but some people find it very annoying. So it would be good to see this in a video on YouTube to understand how annoying this sound-bump is for each of us.
