In works of science fiction, humans fight machines in the name of freedom and individuality, but these humanitarian myths have long been outdated. The modern era may have placed humans in the position of God, and in the previous century, humanity may have controlled famine, epidemics, and war. However, today, as it strives to conquer old age and death and find the key to happiness, new divine powers of creation and destruction take the lead. As we decode the structure of the brain and our genetic code thanks to biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and Big Data processing, authority will pass to external algorithms, and most people will become economically and politically powerless. When my smartphone knows me better than I do and Big Brother can make the best decisions on my behalf, democratic elections, the free market, and humans themselves will be as outdated as stone knives and audio cassettes. If the 19th century, with the Industrial Revolution, brought the working class, the 21st will create a new massive "useless class." After 50,000 years, Homo sapiens (wise man) will give way to Homo deus (god-man), and the world will gain new masters.

I think a gloomy future is the best reality we will not experience.... with uncertain immortality
In the first chapters where it refers to the past (although you read it for the future), it might tire some with its theory and historical references, but I consider it absolutely necessary to understand the philosophy behind the book and especially (I assume) if you haven't read Homo Sapiens. In the end, it compensates and serves perfectly the purpose for which it was written. Very interesting and definitely makes you think about the future and better understand the modern world and the importance of big data and algorithms.

Very interesting and easy to read
Excellent in every aspect. It is better to be read after sapiens, it can be easily read on its own.
Equally good book as its predecessor. A prediction of a gloomy future.
One of the best books I have ever read.
