The TL-WN823N allows a computer to connect to a wireless network at speeds of up to 300Mbps. Its small size does not obstruct neighboring USB ports, offers Hotspot creation capability, encryption, and easy installation.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I just got this from Media Markt.. my phone in the room is lightning fast with 200 Mbps internet and this specific USB WiFi is garbage.. it freezes completely, kicks me out, and my router is in the next room..
When it is connected it is very good, but it is not often and it needs to be connected manually with Windows 10 & 11
It is a bit of a hassle to install the driver on Linux Mint, but it does its job. Not suitable for gamers.
Very easy installation (with CD), so far it hasn't given me any problems... it is quite close to the router so the range is good and there are no disconnections... for a simple use that I want it for on a desktop, it does an excellent job!
I got it when I was in the army to use as a hotspot for internet connection from my phone to my laptop, where I provided services as a reservist because the wifi was down. 5 years later, I still have it and it works on my sister's computer for years now.
Very good connection, but the range is difficult, especially if there is a wall in between.
It's a black dog. It can handle hits and falls, it's still strong. It was worth the money, I never imagined it would last this long because the ones I had before broke within the first year.
I had some disconnections when I plugged it into a regular USB port instead of a USB 3.0 port, but I didn't have any other issues.
Recently (12.2021) I acquired the stick, priced at €10. I plugged it into a desktop with Win 7 Ultimate. So far, I haven't had any issues with disconnections. Relatively easy installation from the accompanying CD, as I cannot connect it with a network cable. It connected to an extender located in the hallway.
It has been functioning smoothly for 2 years without any disconnections on USB 2.0. It did not work properly on USB 3.0.
For gaming and streaming, it is better to choose more expensive implementations with an antenna.
It is a temporary solution.
Waste of money. After 4 months, it started disconnecting on its own. Tried multiple tests on Windows. In the end, I took the PC to the technician. It turned out that the USB stick was the problem.
I have it for over 6 months and for less than 10€ it's value for money. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars because sometimes (rarely to frequently) it's slow, but that won't bother you because if you unplug it and plug it back in, it will work normally. Buy it, it's worth it. I don't recommend it for gaming, only for basic use. Get the Asus wifi usb for 20€ or 50€ for decent gaming.
At first, I had some issues, but after changing the USB port, it has returned to normal. For its price, it's okay. It served me well because my laptop's Wi-Fi card was broken, and now I use this and do my work.
I have it for Cosmote TV at a distance of about 5 meters from the router, and there are 3 obstacles in between, each half a meter. It constantly causes disconnections (freezes) for me. If you can, please find another solution
I got it for use with the Cosmote TV decoder. Although the modem is very close, I couldn't connect it because there is a wall and furniture in between. Unfortunately, the range is not good for such cases.
It's not worth even 1€. Just go and get an Ethernet and the problem is solved. Specifically, I bought it for gaming and everything freezes every 5-10 seconds (I've had it for about a month or two now)
After 1 year of use, I can say that the device is very good for its price. At first, I had speed fluctuations, but it turned out that it was not the device's fault, but rather the router, which I confirmed through the router's own page, checking the synchronization speed and the amount it sends to the computer. There are 2 walls with columns between the router and the computer, and in the past, I had several losses with many Wi-Fi devices due to this. Of course, I have a 50 Mbps VDSL, so I don't know if the device will be as good or have heating issues with faster lines. At first, I was hesitant and gave it 4 out of 5 stars, but after about 1 year of continuous use (24/7/365), I can say it is flawless and I will give it 5 stars. It is a well-known product, cheap, and of good quality for its price. I wish all products were like this
I have had the v1 for 3 years now and recently I also bought 2 v3. I have not had any issues or disconnections in all these years. The only thing is that it is not dual, meaning it does not support a 5hz connection.
It constantly disconnects and the connection is very unstable. Personally, it keeps disconnecting on my computer non-stop and then takes at least 10 minutes to reconnect to the internet. Stay away, don't buy it.
First day with the Cosmote TV decoder. Flawless operation. I hope it remains so. The distance from the modem is approximately 5 meters.
Update: It keeps freezing constantly.
Unfortunately, this is the second tp link that went off. While it initially worked satisfactorily, after a short time, disconnections started and eventually it was not recognized. I tried with drivers and did a reset. In the end, I would have to go inside the circuit board. It didn't make sense. I connect the ethernet cable and that's it. The cable is the guarantee. No interruptions or anything. In my opinion, if you work day and night, downloading torrents, prefer cable connections, not adapters. They are likely to break due to temperatures caused by continuous use.
I was not very satisfied with its use. Its range is not satisfactory enough and its compatibility with a well-known satellite TV is not satisfactory (although it is claimed to be the only compatible product). Of course, the decoder is probably also to blame for the disconnections, but it does not work flawlessly even on a laptop. I would call it a temporary solution.
I wonder how COSMOTE recommends such a bad product, constant disconnections when it barely manages to connect... stay away
I bought it for the decoder of Cosmote TV, due to the lack of Ethernet capability. At first, it worked perfectly, but after about 20 days of use, as soon as I connect it to the decoder, the decoder freezes and becomes dead.
I chose it to use it in a subscription TV decoder (as recommended by the company itself), but it doesn't work properly, resulting in being very slow, experiencing frequent freezes in replay TV, and occasionally, although rarely, disconnecting. These issues occur in a simple decoder, while in a decoder with a hard drive, it worked almost satisfactorily, with a slight delay in the commands given by the user.
It does a great job for what I bought it for (connecting to a hybrid TV decoder for subscription television) and for the money I paid, I have no complaints.

I bought it to connect the Cosmote decoder to wifi. It is exactly what I needed
Very good, also for Cosmote tv decoder. No disconnection on vdsl line.

I put it in a COSMOTE decoder and it works very well!

Fearlessly, it catches like a cable with a wall in between. I recommend it.
Continuous disconnections without cause. (It is not a distance issue)
I have it 1 meter away from the router and it only captures a few MBs on a 50 Mbps line...
