Description
Mountain tea is widely spread in Greece and comes from plants belonging to the genus Sideritis (Sideritis spp). The name Sideritis is said to derive from the Greek word for iron (σίδηρος), due to the plant's healing properties for wounds caused by iron weapons in ancient battles.
According to another version, it was named this way because it is a natural source of iron.
