I have had the coffee machine for about two months now. Overall, it makes good coffee, but you need to learn its quirks. Firstly, the basket is pressurized, so tamping the coffee has absolutely no meaning. In fact, I noticed that when I tamped the coffee "hard", the extraction would get clogged and drip, not flow properly. So, no tamping. Secondly, the grind size. I tried the master blend from coffee island at 2.5 and 2.2. At 2.2, it got clogged and dripped, so I went back to 2.5. And there, to get a good coffee, it doesn't need a strong tamp, in fact, just enough to make the surface of the coffee flat inside the basket. Thirdly, the quantity of coffee is important. I always drink double, so I only use the large basket. If I fill it completely with two doses, according to the measuring spoon, there is too much coffee and it creates a hole during extraction, so it doesn't come out good. The basket has a mark inside that says max. It's good to fill the coffee up to that point, so there is a gap for the water to fill the basket correctly and not create holes. If you see circular marks on the coffee puck after extraction, then you have put too much.
For milk, get a proper milk frother and always use the nozzle, so that the milk foam comes out decent. I haven't managed to make it "velvety" yet, but it is generally drinkable, although it has bubbles inside.
The machine is value for money in my opinion. Don't expect it to make coffee like professional ones, but it is quite good if you learn how to make it correctly
The extraction is done very quickly with whatever coffee you put in, resulting in a bad coffee... The positive thing is that it heats up quickly, but that's about it... I've had it for 2 years and suddenly it stopped drawing water!
With moderate care (not as often as it should be cleaned), it continues to make a delightful coffee, almost with daily use. I have had it for 3-4 years. The only downside is that its ''table'' creaks with use due to shaking. Buy freely.
Although I am a beginner, with the guidance of friends, the coffee is just fine. Good value for money purchase. The coffee is much better than the watery stuff they serve you outside. So the payback happens in two months at most
It makes good coffee with crema when it comes to hot beverages. Now for freddo etc., it depends on everyone's preferences for the blend and the overflow. With the dimello espresso, the foam becomes wonderful and in terms of taste, I believe it reaches a satisfactory level. In terms of build quality, I wouldn't say it makes much noise, but after 1.5 years of daily use, it creaks slightly when moving the small cup a little. In conclusion, however, it's a very good choice for this price range.
Very worth it, I have had this coffee maker for almost 2 years. It makes very good coffee, it was cheap when I bought it and it really is worth the money. I removed the plastic part from the steam wand because I noticed it works much better without it. What I do as an extra step to get better froth is to let the steam wand run a little by itself at the beginning. I put water in a small pot and place the steam wand inside to heat it up well. From there on, I am very satisfied. I highly recommend it!!!
The problem is that I had a 15bar machine and the coffee that comes out is not the right cut for it, I believe. It shoots out the coffee in fractions of a second, so I have concluded that the ready-made coffees at the supermarket are not for that many bars...
It heats up very quickly. It is very small and light. Also, it doesn't dispense hot water from the nozzle but from the center of the filter. For example, if you want to make tea... when you first get it, the button requires quite a bit of force. It takes a long time before it loosens up to click comfortably. The service at the Gruppe call center is impeccable. The technician called me immediately because I thought the plastic smelled. He assured me that the water tank is made of bone and he was right.
For a beginner with a little experimentation, it will make great coffee! For its price, the machine is very good!
After a year of use, it started acting crazy. Sometimes it makes coffee and sometimes it doesn't. Regarding the inox it mentions, the tool where you put the coffee has rusted internally and cannot be cleaned at all.
Half of those who sit and comment don't know how to make a freddo and then blame the coffee machine.
The only thing that bothers me is that it is not automatic and you have to stop it yourself, and it has a very narrow container with a nondescript lid that makes it difficult to fill with water and clean.
If you are a beginner and can't stop it by eye, get a measuring cup, 1 scoop 7g for espresso 30ml, 2 scoops 14g for freddo 60ml.
The coffee is special, it has nothing to envy from professional coffee machines, since I bought it I stopped the delivery.
Amazing tool, I have had it for a few days and my impressions of the coffee quality are excellent... The rich crema and the velvety taste of the coffee made with ready-made commercial espresso and without any special preparation shattered any comparison... I will make a cautious critique only on the relatively light construction, as I do not know its durability over time, but with the price it is sold at, it makes it the absolute best value..!
After 4 years and 4-5 coffees every week (winter, summer) it's great. It needs cleaning but it's very durable.
I have bought 2 about 5 years ago when they were much cheaper.. Still working, making for my taste perfec coffee. Love them!
Owner of the machine for about 4 years now. Buy it without hesitation. Easy to use and quality coffee maker. Easy to clean.
Convenient handle with a good lid closure to hold the filter when emptying the coffee after use is very useful. At first, I considered it unnecessary, but it quickly heats up the water and the pressure in both the press and the espresso is tolerable. It is descent for the price, don't expect miracles. Buy it if you want to start saving money by reducing takeout and making your own coffee at home. It will bring you huge long-term savings. I highly recommend it for beginners, being someone in the coffee field
It is much faster than the previous ones I had and quite cheaper. It makes good coffee with rich crema, we will see its durability along the way.
If you want to get annoyed right from the start, buy this device.
Firstly, the metal spout sometimes gets stuck, causing the residue of the previous coffee to spill in the attempt to detach it.
After we put the new coffee in the spout and wait for it to come out in the cup, it overflows and spills in the rest of the house.
I must say that despite the hardships and annoyance, the coffee comes out good.
I bought it mainly because of the many positive reviews. As another user mentioned, the extraction is done very quickly, no matter what coffee you use, resulting in an incorrect coffee. Additionally, it does not seem to have a quality construction at all, all the plastics creak.
Do not be swayed by the reviews.
-Update-
It broke after 4 months.
I have had the machine for 4 years and it still makes very good coffee! With proper and regular cleaning, it is as good as the first day!
I wonder, though, why it has increased in price by about 40% today... I bought it for about 50€ and it was really value for money, now seeing it for 85€, there might be something better available.
Value for money, guys, it does what it says! It will definitely save your hands from the greediness that exists out there
It's a great machine. The first one I have and it doesn't give me any trouble at all. The coffee is decent. The only negative thing is that it makes noise. It's worth its money
I have had it in my possession for about 1 month and I only have good things to say!
Except for the fact that as a construction it could be more sturdy..BUT it is really Value for Money!!
As a professional in the field, I can say that in terms of taste, I feel like I'm making coffee in a coffee shop! The experience definitely counts and it's not easy for everyone to calculate the seconds (since each blend and grind is different) or to make the right milk froth, it just takes a little practice for those who don't know. Personally, I use the nozzle without the black plastic and the milk froth comes out velvety!
Quite easy in the process and very fast in heating up!
For its price, I believe it is very fair and suitable for beginners and professionals!!
Half of you here simply have no idea how to make coffee, and you come and complain about the coffee maker. There is no better coffee maker for this price. I have had it for 7 years and I make coffee every morning. 2,500 coffees, all excellent, without ever cleaning it. Those of you who say it makes the coffee bitter, makes it hot, makes it watery, go drink cold Nesquik chocolate and leave the coffees alone.
I am not experienced but after trying different coffee bean grinds, I ended up with Presidente ground at 3.5.
For freddo espresso, I use 16g and tamp it with a weight of about 12kg. I extract it for 25-30 seconds to get 30-40 grams of coffee.
I add sugar and let it dissolve in the cup, then I shake it with an ice cube for 5-8 seconds and serve it in a glass with 3 ice cubes. I haven't found a good cappuccino yet. Every time I've made it, I didn't like it.
I believe that with this particular device, you are essentially paying for the name and not the quality. A humble Rohnson espresso machine that I had purchased in the past was worth much more, as it was much more user-friendly and cost-effective. The quality of construction and the difficulty in use and cleaning are, in my opinion, the biggest drawbacks.
I have it for almost 2 years. The nozzle stopped working after the first 10 uses maximum. It produces mediocre coffee and lately, even though it has been cleaned, it produces quite bitter coffee.
Pros: easy to use, easy to clean.
5/10, I wouldn't buy it again
I have had it for over 5 years and I use it daily.
For its price, it is an excellent machine. The only thing you need to be careful about is cleaning the machine after each use at the point where the coffee container is placed, otherwise it can get clogged and ruin your next cup of coffee.
I mainly drink espresso and cappuccino.
The froth doesn't come out perfect, but I haven't practiced enough to be able to judge objectively.
The espresso comes out as if you bought it from outside, just be careful. For the espresso, we use a double dose of coffee (60ml) and mix it with 2 ice cubes and our choice of sugar for 8 seconds (I use a frappe mixer). Then we serve it in a glass with another 4 ice cubes. If you mix it with all the ice cubes together, it will become watery.
Overall, it is worth its money.
To me, the fredo espresso tastes like watermelon, having tried all the ground coffees from the supermarket. I would appreciate if someone could tell me the trick to drink a regular fredo and not see the person opposite me through the coffee cup.
I have 2 of these coffee machines, and I have to say that for their price, the coffee they make is excellent. The machine heats up easily, and if someone finds the coffee blend they really like, they can enjoy their coffee at home and at work without any problems.
However, the machine has 2 negatives, not annoying but worth mentioning:
1) It is not that quiet during operation, although the noise is not excessive.
2) In case someone wants to make frothed milk and then run the coffee again, the machine does not support this and they will have to let it cool down for a few minutes before running the coffee again
Yes, it makes good coffee, good foam, and heats up quickly.
The main problem with it is that it is not ergonomic at all.
The water container has an indistinct lid, which, when opened, prevents you from easily pouring water inside
(I will upload photos at the first opportunity)
The container itself is very narrow and cleaning it is unnecessarily troublesome.
For around €80, I expected a slightly better build quality for the coffee maker and its accessories (the measuring cup/tamper is not very good)
If I had the choice, I might prefer another one for the same price, or I would pay a little more for the same quality in the mechanism with better design.
