It is impossible to believe that this can be achieved by a product that has the power consumption of a light bulb. If someone understands how the product works, they immediately realize that it is a very nice and economical device that can keep them literally warm, for as many hours as they are in bed, at zero cost. The economy you achieve with this is remarkable because while you sleep for 7-8 hours, you have the warmth exactly where you need it, in bed, without wasting energy heating the entire room with traditional heating methods. Personally, in extreme cold, I sleep with the electric blanket on all night as it provides warmth and comfort, making sleep a pleasure. Now, with the energy crisis, these products are a one-way street for both our pockets and the country. I should also mention that this particular blanket has 5 heat settings, and if you sleep with it set to 5, after a few hours it drops to 3 to maintain a satisfactory level of warmth during sleep. It has a timer that can be set for up to 10 hours (note that the timer requires a combination of indicator lights to be set to 10 hours) and it also has a nice texture compared to other mattress pads on the market. As it was opened and plugged in, it was returned back in the box. I wonder about the sense of warmth that some people have. I have an imetec (clearly more expensive) that on the last level, you can't stand it. On this one, the last level is like the first one, meaning nothing. I don't know if it was a defective piece. However, I see that others here have the same opinion as me, so I don't think all of us got the defective ones...
I gave it as a gift and, after using it for 2-3 weeks, they told me good things. The installation was easy and it gives off satisfactory heat. It fit very well on a mattress 2.00x1.40! It heats up quite quickly and evenly, making the cold winter nights warm!! It has many functions and a timer. The only relatively negative thing for me is the plastic points on the right and left of the base where the controls connect and the large bulk of the controls. The cables for connecting to the power are 2 meters, so they cover comfortably.
Compared to the old mattress pad I had, which was cheaper, this one takes a very long time to heat up. I left it for 3 hours, maybe even longer, on the highest setting and still the temperature is moderate. The straps that hold the corners of the mattress are uncomfortable. The mattress pad gathers in various spots and doesn't stretch properly. I had to cut and sew them so that they are parallel to the mattress. The worst part is that I can no longer turn it on via a smart plug like I did with the previous mattress pad when I was out of the house. At first, I had it set up normally and the plugs from the controllers were bothering me during sleep. Now, I have turned it upside down with the controllers on the feet and the corners with the cables turned inside out. I have experience with a similar Imetec product. I cannot comment on durability and washing. However, I am completely satisfied with its functionality. Compared to the Imetec, it takes a bit longer to heat up. The best solution is to turn it on a little earlier before getting into bed. From there on, though, the warmth is guaranteed. Uniform and noticeable. After a relatively short time, I have to lower the temperature. I read that the plugs can be bothersome. That is if you are two meters tall and sleep... without a pillow. It is almost in the corner of the mattress pad and does not bother - under normal conditions. The temperature is adjustable and then during the night, it automatically decreases from 5 to 4, to 3, or even to 2 depending on the warmth. It never decreased annoyingly. The controller is much better than the Imetec's because the timer has the option of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 hours. In the Imetec, it had 1 hour, 3 hours, or 9 hours. Also, in the Imetec, when you set the time, the same indication remains until the blanket turns off and you don't know when it will turn off. In the Rohnson, the indication on the controller changes every hour (from 10 it goes down to 9, to 8, etc.) and you can see it. Clearly, a preferable controller then. Of course, the Imetec is also of good quality. After 2 years of continuous operation, it recently got stuck 3 times and I had to unplug it. A minor problem that was not solved by the corresponding service, which did not replace it but simply cleaned it while it was still under warranty. If the Ronson proves to be equally durable, it is definitely a more cost-effective purchase. Overall, based on my experience with it for the past few days, it is indeed value for money.
