This TR4 air cooler provides more efficient cooling than liquid cooling on TR4 socket.
You can find better cooling with the TR4 Enermax AIO, as well as appearance, but it doesn't compare to the quality, reliability, and price of Noctua.
I was impressed with the silent operation of the Noctua 140mm fan, which is clearly of excellent quality and construction.
-------Performance:
In my case, there are 1 intake fan, 1 exhaust fan, and the CPU cooler fan.
The CPU temperatures at idle range from 23-27 degrees, and under full load stress test, they reach 43-50 degrees (without overclocking 12 cores).
-------Comparison:
I conducted tests with the Kraken 280 liquid cooler, and compared to Noctua, it was 6 degrees higher.
The main reason for this, I believe, is that it doesn't fully cover the large surface area of the Threadripper, which is why I recommend purchasing a TR4 compliant cooler without a second thought, especially if you're considering overclocking.
-------Installation:
Some people have complained about the installation, but I will tell you that I had no issues with it, and everything was clear by reading the instructions carefully and doing the calculations before purchasing the product. (pay attention to the thermal paste application. watch a video from Noctua, AMD, or GamerNexus)
--------Size:
The size is indeed slightly larger than expected, and you should check the CPU cooler clearance of your case before buying it and compare it to the dimensions of the cooler.
(- I recommend comparing this on the official website of the respective company, as data on other sites may not be accurate -)
I also suggest watching videos with similar builds on your motherboard, if available.
-------Additional advice:
You have the option for offset in the cooler to avoid any issues with the graphics card in the first PCIe slot, and I recommend using it from the beginning because some people have encountered problems and had to move the GPU to the next PCIe slot (not a big deal, of course).
--------Appearance:
For those who prioritize appearance, this cooler will not satisfy them.
But when we talk about Threadripper, we shouldn't think about appearance, but rather performance, especially if your goal is a powerful workstation.
As I mentioned before, I didn't encounter any problems with the cooler and highly recommend it without hesitation.
I will add OC temperatures later.
Good luck with your build!
