I didn't know what material bakelite is... a big difference from the plastic lid I had before!
The feeling is amazing...
I really hope it lasts for years,
if it breaks, I will buy bakelite again.

As for stability...
I always had a problem because my toilet bowl is very old,
I need to come up with a trick to stabilize it...
just like with all the other lids I had...

I just removed the trick I had from the previous one and luckily it fit in this screw!!!
So I am not the right person to inform you if the latch holds or not.
CLEANING: it doesn't leave marks and cleans very easily,
but I don't leave chlorine or other chemical substances to sit until I clean....
