It has DRAM (512MB DDR3 or 500GB version), which is the most important for a fast hard drive.
(Do 512MB suffice for 500GB? Yes, for the 1Terabyte version it is 1024MB DDR3 DRAM for this drive)
The speeds are as promised (530-540MB/s Read & ~520MB/s Write).
Don't listen to the rumors that something has changed inside the drive, it's just a fake drive.
Random 4k read (Q1T1) - 36-38MB/s (important for fast program opening)
An HDD has a speed of 0.2-0.5MB/s Random 4K read, for example, a huge difference in opening speeds for any program.
I think I mentioned all the important things one should know before buying this hard drive.
+We all know that SSDs don't have moving parts, so you connect it and leave it (literally) wherever you want and it won't suffer any damage.
Comparison with other drives and disadvantages:
->The Samsung 860 EVO has 512MB DDR4 DRAM while this one has 512MB DDR3 DRAM, that's why Samsung is better than this one and has slightly better Random 4K read than the WD Blue.
->Samsung has a better reputation for the durability and quality of its drives and better management software.
Is this drive worth its money?
Certainly, but if you have the ability to spend 5-10€ more, then get the Samsung if you want the best drive for almost the same price.
Which other drive is very similar to this one? Crucial MX500 with 512MB/500GB & 1024MB/1TB DDR3 DRAM and from what I know, it performs slightly better (2-3MB/s more in Random 4K Read) and costs about the same, so check it out before making a decision.
After almost 1 year (11 months), the speeds are the same and in CrystalDiskInfo, it dropped from 100% to 99%, a very good result for a primary drive on which I play games and do my work.
After almost 2 years (23 months), the speeds are still the same and its condition dropped from 99% to 98%
