I received the router (98 euros) a day ago and used it yesterday and today. I am a beginner amateur woodworker and I make beds for my children. I have never used a router before, so my evaluation is for anyone who will get a router for the first time. Having read good reviews, I was disappointed for the following reasons:
1. The attachment for connecting a vacuum cleaner (necessary for smooth operation) is made of semi-transparent plastic that obstructs visibility, resulting in not being able to see what I am cutting. This is the most significant problem, which led to cutting errors. Even if I remove it, the problem remains as the sawdust will obstruct visibility.
2. The springs that hold the body are too stiff, which hinders precise handling, as I have to be tightly gripped to cut and therefore lack flexibility in small movements.
3. The attachment for connecting a vacuum cleaner is made of cheap plastic and I am afraid it will break if I accidentally push the vacuum cleaner hose a little too hard.
And one piece of information for aspiring DIY woodworkers: routers do not carve corners, as the blades rotate, so a chisel is needed to cut the rest.
I bought the drill three weeks ago. After many tests on various types of wood, I am completely satisfied with its performance. Positive features are the speed adjustment and the large handles, the carrying case, and the basic set of cutting accessories {bits}. Very good value for money. I would definitely recommend it!
I have had the product for about 1 month, with amateur use. I worked it quite a bit, mainly with a copy router and with thick 18mm plywood. Also, the work was mainly done with the router fixed with homemade construction.
+ It does the job well for amateur use.
+ It is quite powerful and reliable.
+ The carrying case as well as the accessories (including bits) it comes with are a very pleasant addition, especially when you consider the prices they have if you were to buy them separately.
- The stopper it has to unscrew the bit is not strong enough if you have tightened it tightly and you may need to do some trick to manage it. There is no such problem with screwing.
- The attachment for circular cutting is quite thick in the center, so it requires a large hole to stand reliably. If the hole cannot be large, the result will likely have imperfections.
For an amateur, I would definitely recommend it, as I am satisfied. I do not have knowledge about what a professional might need to give an opinion.
