It is heavy, does not slip in the hands, has many attachments. The only negative for me is that it requires 16 hours of charging and lasts for 80 minutes. Also, it does not work while charging. This means that if the battery runs out, it will need to be replaced in order to work.
I had the previous model for three years. The build quality and performance were much better. Extensive use of plastic even in the blades. It feels almost fake.
I bought it and it lasted for nearly two years, It's a cheap one but not that bad at all. If you like to care for your hair and beard and shaving yourself this guy can do both without a problem. I can recommend it but if you can afford something better, please go for it!
I use this product constantly for the hair of 2-3 days, it fully covers me, I have almost forgotten about shaving and I use it directly on the skin without any attachment. It does the job perfectly fine.
It is true that it is noisy and shakes a lot in the hand, it doesn't bother me but it might bother someone else...and rightfully so.
The shaking combined with the difficult/unusable on/off button are its two main flaws, in my opinion not significant.
It also collects hairs inside the mechanism that require thorough cleaning to remove, it holds quite a few hairs.
It also comes with several attachments, maybe one is worth it for nose hairs and the narrow metal one for small details, like nose and ears, etc.
Made in Indonesia...
Please note that the charger only fits this one (it's not USB or something that can be replaced) and until it stops working due to battery, it works at full power, there is no indication or sign of battery decline.
I will give it 5 stars for its user-friendliness.
Terrible machine, makes excessive noise, trembles when held, has a small head diameter, no charging indicator, no adjustments, shave away from this machine
One of the best machines available for the care of the male population. Plenty of accessories for the amateur use that I make of it, although I have also used it for shaving in the past. Very high quality and durable, as I have had it for two and a half years now. I recommend it.
Positive: 1) Many accessories. 2) Powerful engine. 3) Affordable price.
Negative: 1) 16 hours of charging. 2) No indication that it is fully charged. 3) No indication (light) when the battery is running low. 4) Gets easily clogged.
Average machine. Excessive charging time for limited operating time. If I had noticed, I wouldn't have bought it. The rest is the usual stuff you'll find in all machines, easy operation and standard components
It was mainly purchased for facial and body shaving/trimming.
In the positives, it has a lightweight and durable construction, with a variety of attachments for all uses.
In the negatives, a major flaw is that when charging, the machine does not work, resulting in having to wait for an hour if the battery runs out. Other users have mentioned this, but I didn't take it into consideration until I experienced it myself. It does not have an LED indicator for battery life or charging, so after using it twice, I have to charge it to be sure. Coming from a Remington that had an LED and worked with electricity, I consider this a major flaw of Philips in this area.
It is the second Philips product that I have purchased and it broke exactly in time after one month of use for grooming purposes because I also used it at the barber shop. In total, after 12 uses, the on/off button stopped working on this one, just like the previous one where the head lost power and didn't work well
Guys, the machine is quite good and powerful. It doesn't notify you when the battery is about to run out, which is a drawback. I recommend it for trimming beards and haircuts, but I would suggest looking for a better option for haircuts. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_kwfUSs8PM
Good machine, especially for its price. But the attachments don't work well for beards. I haven't tried it on hair yet. However, it works great on the body without any attachments, even though it's not a body machine. That's all
It does not have an indicator for the charging, it takes 16 hours to charge, and the on/off switch is difficult to open. For shaving, it has the necessary settings for mustache.
Battery lasts for 16 hours (!) of charging (without any indicator) for 1 hour of use.
All the combs are very quiet, almost silent, except for the most important one, the 3 - 7 mm, which makes an incredible noise for no reason. Serious ear pain after use, not kidding.
You can't wash the main part of the machine under the tap, resulting in never being able to clean it properly.
Give an extra 10 euros and make your life easier for the next 4-5 years by buying a machine that doesn't have these problems I mentioned above.
It is not what I expected. I bought it mainly for shaving my legs and every 3 days for my face. I don't know if this is the power of these razors, but they don't cut all the hair and leave this one millimeter of hair that is hard. In terms of construction, I was amazed as it took a good dive from the top shelf onto the tiles and nothing happened to it.
Good choice for the price category. I use it for body trimming and it does a very good job. It is powerful, has significant autonomy, does not clog, has many accessories, etc. The negative is the excessive time it takes to fully charge. Good choice for shaving and body trimming.
I gave it as a gift to my friend for his new start at work!! A man should always be elegant, well-groomed, and clean! This particular machine is complete and has all 3 features!! He is very satisfied with the use of the hair trimmer-shaver because it has the ability to give the shape and length he wants to his hair and beard!! Excellent value for money!!
I bought it in the midst of quarantine. The hair had reached ankle length. I used it for trimming and grooming my mustache.
Very powerful machine. It does the job and more. It doesn't get clogged during trimming. It has many attachments for any hair length one desires. The power button is a bit tight at first, but it loosens up later. It's something negligible to discuss.
It's easy to clean. Personally, I would like a better brush, but still okay. No lubrication is needed.
I am very satisfied.
Edit 8/4/21
I have had it for 10 months now. I am SATISFIED. Hair... perfect... I trim my mustache every week. Nothing has happened to it. I don't remember when I charge it... occasionally. The button is no longer hard... somewhat. When the battery is low, you can tell. The performance decreases. You plug it in and it charges. No indicator light is needed. However, it is not a shaver. It leaves some hair on the face. For that, use a razor.
I highly recommend it.
Edit 11/4/23
I still have it. Nothing has happened to it.
Perfect mustache trimming, weekly use, moderate shaving, but I insist that you need a regular razor. It can also be used for haircuts, it has a variety of combs.
I would like it to charge faster, but with proper planning, you won't have any issues. The battery lasts quite a while though.
I still recommend it.
I bought it a few days ago. I had thick facial hair and strong stubble. The previous one I had (even though I had it for years) I always remember it getting clogged and giving me a hard time. This one provides a clean cut, without getting clogged and without needing many passes.
The other reviews that mention a strange power button and excessive vibration are simply ridiculous.
Of course an electric shaver will vibrate.
I will wait to use it more for a more comprehensive review.
The machine is very good both for trimming and shaving! The only negative is that the button it has for activation is a bit tight! Other than that, it is the best value for money!
I bought it in the midst of quarantine and I can now say, after using it for trimming (once) and shaving (twice), that the machine is ideal for amateur use at home. Many settings for easy and quick results. I highly recommend it. I am completely satisfied.
There are possibly two minor downsides. One is the button. I understood its purpose on the second use and had no issues. The other is the noise. It is louder compared to another one I had. I believe that only these two things might bother someone who may be accustomed to something different. The machine is completely value for money. I cannot comment on the battery issue because with one charge I gave it when I bought it, it comfortably provided me with one trimming and two shaves. No clogging during trimming. Here, a minimal knowledge is required. The movement of the machine when cutting should be specific in order to help prevent clogging. However, even if this happens, it is not a problem. Shaving is very good without pinching, pain, or cuts. I hope you found this information useful.
Tip: Changing the main blade (the one already attached to the machine) is very easy. Pull it upwards, holding it from the blade itself and not from the sides or back.
The best choice for its price, quality construction with a variety of accessories for different uses! As for the negatives, I would mention that the machine makes quite a lot of noise, and during shaving it tends to throw the hairs far away (compared to the previous one I had), but personally, it doesn't bother me. During this time, due to the coronavirus, I used it for head shaving and it was excellent for shaving the head, but it struggled a bit with longer haircuts. Also, its battery life for the use I give it is more than sufficient. Ultimately, it is ideal for shaving the head and face!
I have it for a year. I bought it for beards but it turned out to be very useful for haircutting during the quarantine days. Its battery lasts a long time. I recommend it.
Very good. Quite satisfied. As others have said, the button needs some adjustment, but it definitely does the job. It shaves my body from head to toe with just one charge, and the attachments are plenty with various millimeters for every type of trimming.
One of the best amateur shaving machines available. Quality construction, shaving without irritation or cuts, plenty of accessories for body and face, long-lasting battery, brush for cleaning the interior, and of course, something that interests us all, a low price. Value for money? Definitely!
For those who say it gets stuck and cuts, try cleaning it regularly and applying special oil to the metal tips!
4 years later and it still works, with its oiling and cleaning.
Thank you, Philips
