Danganronpa is fundamentally a murder mystery/visual novel. A bunch of students considered the best in their field are trapped in a school where a robotic demonic bear encourages them to kill each other. If someone commits a murder and the others do not find out, then that person leaves and the rest are executed. If they discover the murderer, then only that person is executed and the rest remain trapped until the next murder. The game encourages you to get to know the characters one by one and form relationships with them, without knowing who will be killed or executed next. And if there's one thing the series does fantastically, it's breaking expectations. Although it doesn't have good replayability once you learn the story, the game is huge (40 hours main, 55 with extras), and like all Danganronpa games, once you finish it you can play an alternative version of the story where no murders occur and you can interact with your classmates as much as you want.

WARNING! The game is a sequel to the previous two Danganronpa games that have been released. While it's not necessary to have played the previous ones to enjoy this one, it's necessary not to have played this one to enjoy the previous ones. Danganronpa 1+2 are available for PSVita, PS4 (the non-digital version is hard to find), and on Steam.
