Very good for the money.
I bought it for 370.
I have had it for 4 years and enjoy the double espresso every morning and afternoon mainly with Hausbrandt gourmet
Almost a year of use. Flawless, simply. It definitely cannot be compared to a machine with a separate grinder, but it is quite close. Very compact. Until today, I have brewed over 20 kilograms, making more than 8 coffees a day. I recommend it with closed eyes...
After the fifth machine, this is the first automatic one I bought and it doesn't make good coffee. I also got two with capsules for professional use that make much better coffee using the same coffee I've been using for five years. WASTE OF MONEY
It needs a little adjustment in the grinder and coffee intensity when you find the result comes out satisfactory. It is very easy to use (my three-year-old daughter makes my coffee)
Nice machine, in my case the manual said that it has a button at the back for power, in addition to the front on-off button, but in the end the machine didn't have a button, and everyone wanted to convince me that it's not a big deal! Obviously a complaint to the consumer advocate
Before purchasing this, I used to grind the coffee myself with a classic grinder and used a simple coffee maker. I had the ability to make the coffee stronger. I have set the De Longhi to the finest possible grind size and with the maximum amount of coffee, but still, it does not produce a strong enough coffee. What I gained is time and inconvenience
I have the coffee machine for one year and I use it every day. I am not a coffee specialist, but the coffee is easy to make and the quality is very descent. I buy coffee beans and I don't make cappuccino. It is an easy solution when you have to drink coffee quickly. The desalination process and the cleaning takes time. An additional small cast is the desalination liquid. If you are buying coffee from cafés, then you could definitely save money.
In plain terms:
1. good coffee (depends on the blend of course),
2. good foam,
3. difficult cleaning/descaling, and
4. very difficult operation when you want to adjust it.
IN IMPORTANT NOTES:
I have bought 2 identical machines (home-office) with a difference of 1-2 months between them and they both broke down at the same time!!
I tried to send them to Delonghi for service but because they were purchased from Skroutz store, Delonghi Greece does not provide service!! (Obviously within warranty for both machines).
In my attempt to contact Delonghi headquarters in Italy (https://www.delonghigroup.com), the website redirects me to the Greek one, so no communication!
LUCKILY after contacting Skroutz, I was fully compensated and now I am looking for a machine through the platform but staying away from Delonghi - I am leaning towards Philips or Krups, I haven't decided yet.
Conclusion: STAY AWAY from Delonghi, make purchases only through SKROUTZ
I bought the machine on 27-06-2022. At the end of July (2023), it stopped working and I took it for service in Chania. The information I had was that they were waiting for a spare part and it was delayed from Athens. At the end of August, they sent the same coffee machine to Athens for central service. In communication with them, they informed me that they are waiting for a spare part (probably a circuit board) and it is delayed, and that I will have the machine repaired by October. Unacceptable, a 3-month delay!!! Never again Delonghi!!!
I bought this tool 6 years ago, and since then I have been cleaning it about once a month after the red indicator light on the machine turns on, using the company's cleaning products. Every 2 cleanings, I clean all the moving parts with a brush and wash them with water. The tool hasn't had any issues and it works just like it did 6 years ago, making an average of 5 coffees every day.
I don't use the frother much; most of the time, it has been used to make hot chocolates or heat water for tea or anything else.
The construction is very good, with sturdy plastic materials, and it remains the same even after all this time.
This machine is intended for offices, clinics, and places where many coffees are made, but I am very satisfied with it for my personal use. Additionally, after trying and drinking coffee from other more expensive and newer machines, I highly recommend it without hesitation.
It does everything perfectly.
It is very convenient.
However, with everyday use, it broke down once in 3 years, the grinder and once the pump system. (Total repair cost ~200€)
It should be noted that it was well-maintained with descaling and the use of a water filter.
So, it is definitely not value for money
The best value for money!
These don't perform like professional ones.
Find a blend with an 80-20 ratio to have a robust flavor.
Maybe increase the temperature and grind the coffee fine. The best setting for me is to use a large amount of ground coffee for extraction.
Very good. It arrived with a broken water container, but the company sent me a new one immediately with a phone call. I have had it for a week and I am still playing with the settings.
I have had it for a week and my nerves have been played... So far, I have drunk about 30 coffees. It was expensive for me, but it's worth it!!!! I will come back in a few months!!
Quality construction and flawless operation. Makes excellent espresso and frothed milk for cappuccino. It has a program for cleaning with salt. We have had it for a year and it has not presented any problems or quirks. We would not change it.
You save on convenience as with a press of a button you have ready coffee in the cup, but the coffee is very mediocre, just average.. despite the adjustments I have made, the coffee is light..
With 370€ you expect to drink coffee... Instead, after 2+ years, no matter how many decent coffee tests I did, I didn't drink any!
I tried over 30 kilograms of different coffee, all the blends and everything mentioned on the internet.
It should be noted that I have had several semi-automatic and professional machines pass through my hands.
It is the definition of an overpriced model. The only thing worth it is its ease of use.
Otherwise, get a grinder and a semi-automatic (with half the total cost) and you will have better results.
UPDATE 19/5
Regarding the frother, it now lasts for 1 minute and then it stops working. After 6 attempts, it cannot descale or at least the light does not turn off. What a shame.
As a recent owner, I have tried various machines and I think this one is worth it. Firstly, I will mention ground coffee and then I will come back to whole beans. The machine is excellent for ground coffee, with the right temperature and quantity, and it creates a nice froth.
tip 1: If you want a stronger flavor in the double shot, you can use 2 scoops instead of 1 as stated in the instructions, and it will turn out great.
tip 2: DO NOT put coffee before the machine is activated. First, open the machine, let it go through the cleaning cycle for a few seconds, and then add the coffee. Otherwise, you will cause damage.
Cleaning is very easy as it cleans the pipes by itself and disposes of the coffee grounds in the drawer, so you just have to empty it.
I had been searching for it for a long time, and when I found it on sale at a well-known store with four kilograms of coffee and an extra 22% discount, I made up my mind. First of all, I will say that the coffee is not café quality, but it is good. In terms of cleaning, it has been easy so far, and if you read the instructions, I don't think you will have a problem. With the offer I found, with the coffee as a gift for a year, the investment will be paid off very quickly. Anyone who decides to buy it and expects the coffee to be café quality should not waste their money.
I am very pleased with the price for what it does and how it grinds the coffee. You just need to learn which coffee to use, how thick to make it, and the temperature you want. It also makes good foam and is easier than cleaning another machine for frothed milk.
I tried for a long time to make it work with the machine but we couldn't manage it. The reasons?
1. The nozzle burns the milk. I tried everything from different types of milk to adjusting the settings.
2. The foam is poorer compared to the Dedica (same company).
3. Cleaning the machine is always problematic, it takes me much more time than expected and I don't know what's wrong.
4. 17/01/2024 My machine is producing a lot of water in the tray where the coffee collects with every operation. The descaling is done on time. It's now useless and ready to be thrown away.
I have had the first coffee maker for 5 years now, and later I bought another one for home. It has made over 5000 coffees and still works with maintenance using vinegar for descaling. Simply the best
I have had it for 20 days and I make 3 coffees a day (double espresso and freddo). I started with Lavazza Super Crema (60% arabica), set the grinder to 3, water temperature to 3, and coffee intensity to "and a quarter". Okay, it is easy to use and clean, and the plastic parts leave a good impression. I make freddo with a single dose of 60 ml. As for the coffee result so far, it is satisfactory but average. I will experiment with other coffees... so far, I have not regretted it.
Update 8/8/2022...
1. Having tried one kilo of Oro and one kilo of Haudbrandt Gourmet, I consider Hausbrandt to be quite better for freddo in terms of body.
2. Starting from 1/5/2022 until 8/8/2022, using bottled water with a little salt (Water from Epirus in a pink bottle) and having the same filter from the beginning, almost 100 days have passed and the container has not shown any trace of salt, and I have not needed descaling yet
Reading so many positive comments, I decided to write my own review. I rate it as a mediocre to bad automatic machine. And that's because you really need to know what you're doing to get a decent espresso. The good thing, though, is that you can achieve it. So forget about the default settings. Set the grinder to position 3 and generally don't go finer than that. The reason is that the operating principle in super automatic machines is that we want a coarser grind due to the fact that you can't do proper tamping, so if you go too fine as traditionally done, you will end up with channeling and an under-extracted espresso. So grinder at 3 at most. Then set the temperature and intensity to Max. I have made precise measurements and it only cuts 9 grams for a single and 11 to 11.5 grams for a double. In these machines, we aim for a brew ratio of 1:4. Which means that the target is 44 ml for a double and 22 ml for a single. In reality, there is no single. Just make the double shot. Anyway, with a maximum of 11 grams, it's not considered a double. Use this as a base for your other drinks.
Today, after 3 years of use, I opened the machine with a screwdriver and tools and adjusted the grinder. This was the only way to make good coffee. Even at the finest setting, the grinder made the coffee quite coarse and weak. I think it's a matter of luck, as not all machines have the same grinder or the same adjustment. I understand from the company's perspective why they make the coffee coarse, so that the machines don't get blocked and don't require mass servicing. However, the result is poor, and I think the three stars I gave for a machine that requires the owner to take risks and potentially break it is very generous. So if the coffee is weak, don't waste your time, nothing will change. Personally, I have tried everything - expensive coffees, cheap coffees, countless adjustments. I used various YouTube videos mainly for maintenance issues to understand how to change the grinder setting. I hope to have the time to make a video myself on how I did it, but for now, because this machine has exhausted me, I will have a decent coffee instead of the watery ones I have been drinking until now. As for those who want to buy this coffee maker, it's a bit of a gamble. Good luck.
I bought it to replace a Krups EA8108...
The purchase was made from the official website to avoid risking the warranty!
The settings must be changed (many people write about it) in order to achieve a good result, not perfect but good enough!
I consider it the best for this price range, and overall, if you don't want to spend a lot, this model is worth it!
Update 5/7/22
After two months of use, the standby circuit board burned out. It took a month for the replacement to arrive from the service, truly terrible service from the companies as they do not ensure an adequate supply of spare parts and do not send them promptly. Everything else is fine, but hopefully you won't need repairs.
