Properties
The composition of Histoplastin Red consists of the optical isomers Alkannins / Shikonins (A/S) and their ester derivatives, combined with the tetra- and penta- cyclic triterpenes of Pistacia lentiscus oleoresin.
It is a completely natural product, meaning it does not contain any synthetic chemicals, artificial colors, or fragrances.
The high temperatures of summer do not alter the composition of the product, because it is 100% natural. However, they may make its texture more fluid.
For a thicker texture, the ideal temperature is <= 28 °C.
To immediately restore the texture, place the product in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes before use.

Although I don't write reviews often, here it is worth writing one, because this is a misunderstood product. Indeed, in the first 2 weeks it aggravated my acne, but then it cleared everything up and I have been suffering from acne for over 10 years. I am buying histoplastin for the 5th time and I have to mention it. If you're not allergic, it's worth giving it a try, but yes, it doesn't work miracles overnight, it requires patience.
I bought it after reading what the product is exactly and the reviews. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied because it did not absorb into my skin and after a few applications, I got small pimples. I used it from winter to spring, but I definitely do not recommend it for summer.
Personally, I don't understand if it helps the skin, but I think it somewhat helped with the acne scars and redness. I am trying to restore my damaged skin and turned to this. I bought it for premature deep wrinkles that I acquired at 22 due to acne treatments and experiments with exfoliating products and chemical peels that I did without using moisturizer. I bought it desperately for the wrinkles mainly for hydration, but on the contrary, it dries my skin out a lot to the point of peeling. Before using a moisturizer, the situation is somewhat saved, but in general, I have the impression that histoplastin clogs the pores; I am experiencing many blemishes with its use. I have not seen any improvement in the wrinkles during the time I have been using it.
I had bought it before and it didn't dehydrate me, so they have drastically ruined its formulation. I no longer recommend it
I had a small injury recently and decided to get it to help my skin not leave a mark, but unfortunately, it gave me an allergy. After application, I was filled with redness. It is a cosmetic product that, from what I read afterward, causes more allergies than benefits.
It is definitely not for all skin types. No product is. But for me, it worked for burns, surgery, and herpes. On my little one, after the spider bite treatment, I also applied ointment. There was no scar, and it healed quickly according to the doctors, faster even. My mom uses it after facial hair removal. Also, very good results.
Things are not as tragic as I read. The cream really provided amazing hydration on the third day, it toned the face but did not affect any pimples. The downside is that the packaging is quite small. It doesn't have a bad smell, but it doesn't smell like other commercial ones that are refreshing; however, the smell doesn't linger unpleasantly. While it is very thick, it spreads easily, but it doesn't leave any bad feeling for hours. It doesn't leave greasiness within a few minutes.
It gave me an allergy and my face swelled up, and I had to take cortisone. The cream is not to blame, but I didn't test it on my hand before applying it because it is herbal, and I probably had an allergy to one of those plants. So be careful, try it before applying. Friends who have tried it told me it is amazing, and that's why I got it, but I have an allergy to its ingredients
Excellent cream for DRY skin like mine. Personally, I also like its scent; it reminds me of peanut. I highly recommend it because it does what it promises, and I consider it far superior to many well-known commercial moisturizers I have used all these years.
I cannot be completely objective as its repulsive smell and texture make it extremely difficult to apply. I cannot use it intensively because it smells very bad and every time I have used it, it leaves red spots everywhere, stains clothes, and is sticky
Well, I bought the product about 7 months ago and I must admit that it is quite good, but not that it works miracles, it requires some persistence. I don't like its smell and its texture because it is difficult to spread!
Skin: prone to acne.
Use: mainly in the morning, or morning and evening.
Period of use: 4.5 months
Scent: discreet, not pleasant but after a while you can't smell it anymore.
Color: light red when applied, not visible afterwards.
Texture: thick, requires a small amount for the whole face.
Initially, I bought it for my sister for a mark she had on her leg. After systematic use, she saw real improvement and it was almost invisible, she stopped using it and because we were really impressed with its effectiveness, I started using it on my face for some small scars I had from acne hoping it would help. I bought it a second time, I haven't seen any significant difference in the scars, but it keeps my skin well hydrated and I hear many positive comments about the appearance of my face. Also, even though I have acne-prone skin and it is not normally recommended, it has not affected me at all, which was something I was afraid of when I first started using it.
I bought it encouraged by the good reviews to deal with dehydration. However, IT CAUSED ME DERMATITIS!
I applied the recommended minimum amount, I had stopped using retinol and acids. I felt tingling/burning from the first application but I thought it was just a sign of how potent it is. I stopped using it on the 4th day when my eyes became swollen and the tingling almost turned into a burn. STAY AWAY especially when there is a plethora of regenerating creams available on the market!
Well, first of all, we should remember that this cream is 100% natural, so its slightly unusual scent is due to its ingredients. I have dry and sensitive skin. However, the most serious issue I face is some premature signs of aging, due to a very difficult period I went through, which unfortunately left its marks, along with tired and dull skin. I started using it, without high expectations, and to my great surprise, I noticed that my face was visibly changed. My skin started to recover, regain its radiance, and these premature wrinkles were reduced, and the ones that remained were softened. Of course, it requires systematic use and application on well-cleansed skin, with the application of a serum with hyaluronic acid before applying Histoplastin Red for extra hydration. Initially, it leaves a slightly reddish shade, which gradually disappears after a light massage on the entire face. Indeed, it does not spread easily because its texture is very thick, although it feels light, and it takes a little more effort to be absorbed. However, a little while after applying it, you see your face more radiant, rested, with uniformity in color, and younger-looking. For me, it is the best solution for problematic or stressed skin that needs additional anti-aging action and results.
It is red in color (I mention it as a fact because I saw some negative reviews), something that does not affect the application! I like that you use a small amount (lens size) and spread it all over the face. However, it is not targeted specifically! It was immediately absorbed into my dry skin and did not create any shine. The scent is neutral.
I was hesitant whether it would work and if I should buy it. We had a family gathering and I got marks on my forehead and cheek. I decided to give it a try and I did the right thing! Honestly, from the second day, my face started to shine (I apply it in the morning, afternoon, and evening). The marks already started to fade from the 4th-5th day. Now I am in the first week of using it. It absorbs slowly, I would say in about half an hour, it doesn't leave any redness except for the first few seconds when you apply it, and the smell is the most intense for about 10 minutes, not a big deal. It's worth its money and I will definitely buy it again.
It absorbs quickly, so its red color doesn't bother. It smells a bit like Chios mastiha, but for a short while and for me, the scent is pleasant, giving the feeling of a natural product, just as it is if you read how it is made.
This cream is like a balm! I only apply it at night because it doesn't absorb easily, but it's not like the usual regenerating creams. I've only been using it for a few days, but I hope it delivers on its promises because it's expensive! Overall, there's a lot of advertising for this product... we'll see
I had bought it a few years ago because I had hit my forehead and I was afraid it would leave a mark. I had also bought expensive synthetic regenerative-healing creams in the past that didn't do much, and I wanted to try something natural this time. I went to a random pharmacy and they recommended histoplastin as the holy grail of creams, claiming that it even heals old wounds. Since when you get injured, you need to keep the wound moist, I didn't have much time for research and because its composition consisted of just 3 natural ingredients, I bought it. I applied it constantly until the wound completely disappeared, and within 2-3 months it was completely gone, I couldn't even locate where it was. Since I had a lot left, I used it on some old wounds that had left red marks, and they disappeared too! I think it was one of the few times that a cream actually does what it promises. I have used it as a moisturizer but 1. it is heavy and somewhat reddens the face, 2. it stains fabrics and doesn't come off, 3. it smells like peas, and 4. I think it is slightly comedogenic. Now its composition has changed, but recently they added zinc which seems to help. Also, in the past it didn't come in plastic packaging but in a metal tube. But as a healing cream, it's a 10/10.
PS: If you want to use it for fresh wounds or scars, you need to apply it frequently enough to keep the area moist (to prevent the wound from drying out) and in combination with fucidin or something similar in the first few days to promote faster healing (to prevent infection)
I had bought it (in its moisturizing-regenerating form) influenced by comments about burns and even wrote a negative review while the product is no longer a medicinal healing but a cosmetic regenerating-moisturizing, so I want to correct the injustice that was done by correcting my review and sincerely apologizing to the company. Healing is different from regeneration. Healing is done by medicinal products while regeneration is done by cosmetics.
Great caution is needed. Cosmetics are prohibited to be used on open wounds and burns. Do not be misled by false comments and it is not true that it works for burns even if Google shows it in the search as "cream for burns". It is a cosmetic and not a medicinal product.
Do not be deceived by the fact that the packaging is in the form of a tube of medicinal cream and not in a glass jar like classic cosmetic creams. It is convenient in a tube because only a very small amount is needed for each use.
As a moisturizing, anti-aging, and regenerating cream, it is great. As for the scent that some mention, this is completely subjective depending on how strong one's sense of smell is and how much quantity they apply on their skin. It really requires a very small amount to do its job. Be careful, for starters, try it on a small area in case you are allergic to any of its ingredients. This applies to all cosmetics that we use for the first time.
Its price is very reasonable compared to its size because only a small amount is needed, as little as a lentil.
I tried it again today even though I never used cosmetics before because I entered the menopausal phase and my skin started to become excessively dry, especially on the forehead. Yes, it does its job perfectly. Good radiance to your skin, ladies.
I really wanted the product to work for me, especially since some celebrities advertise it, even though I had read some bad reviews before buying it. I never had acne in my life - just a few pimples during adolescence - and now I'm in my 40s. I have combination skin and I got pimples everywhere after applying it on clean skin AFTER microneedling at home - I was shocked. Because I don't want to throw away the cream, after 2 weeks when my face calmed down a bit from the red cysts and painful pimples - textured skin, I decided to apply the cream ONLY under my eyes, as I imagined that I wouldn't get pimples there since it's not an area with prominent pores/oiliness like the cheeks, etc. Eventually, I also got a pimple there the second time I tried the product. I would recommend using a minimal amount as the last step in your skincare routine, on top of your moisturizers or serums, and never the same or next day after microneedling at home because it will ruin your entire face.
I got it for my face. 1. It's difficult to spread. 2. It's red. 3. It doesn't absorb quickly. 4. It doesn't have a nice texture or any scent. 4. It's probably meant for another purpose, like surgical scars
The cream does something in terms of regeneration. It has a texture like ointment. It takes a while to absorb, so I apply it at night and massage my face for a few minutes. It also leaves a oily feeling on the face until it is absorbed. Maybe I will buy it again
Wonderful! It leaves a red shade that fades after a few seconds, and the skin shines for several hours! As for the scent, it resembles the aroma of mastic gum!
Unacceptable, smells awful, shines too much, after daily use for 2 months, no change whatsoever. I would not buy it again for any reason at all, as it does not deliver on any of its promises. In short, a pointless purchase, wasted money.
It is excellent, a little greasy but OK, the logic says to apply a little during the day and normally at night, anyway it is absorbed in 20-30 minutes.
My experience is purely about the part of regeneration from "gym" wounds. In wounds from a unicycle, the recovery was so fast that I didn't expect it. It created a layer of skin in just one day, and it was not so thin that it would peel off upon contact with a bar or unicycle. Obviously, it has a greasiness, and the scent is not something that would bother if used on the body, but maybe it would bother somewhat on the face. I would highly recommend it for all friction injuries.
Very good for dull, dry, dehydrated skin. It is very greasy and requires a minimal amount on normal skin like mine. It has a bad smell and initially reddens the skin (I don't mean to irritate it but it's like it's coloring it). It helps with expression lines, the skin becomes elastic, radiant, and soft.
It is indeed greasy, but if someone applies a small amount and spreads it well, it's okay. I don't find its scent as bad as they describe, it's not even strong. Now, as for whether it eliminates wrinkles, I can't have an opinion.
I use it at night and in the morning my skin is wonderful, soft, with a uniform color and very moisturized. It's worth using it as a regenerating cream for the night. It's amazing.
The packaging has changed, and so has the composition. Once, 4-5 years ago, nobody knew about it and I used to buy it constantly, they only sold it in pharmacies because I had found the elixir for my skin! It was in a metallic packaging, more watery and oily. And of course, much more expensive! The 50ml back then cost 35-37€. And it really was worth every last euro. (it lasted for months and months with daily use) As soon as it became commercial, it deteriorated in every aspect. Such a shame because it was a great cream, a balm truly for any skin condition.
