This book for the second grade of Primary School was written to complement, along with the other two books for the first and third grades of the Organization, a series of books for the first three grades of Primary School.

This series of books for the first three grades, titled "Mathematics of Nature and Life," is the result of scientific research at the Department of Primary Education in Florina of the University of Western Macedonia and scientific experimental application in the Experimental Schools of this University.

Our views on the teaching of Mathematics and the development of content in Primary School are based on international but also on many of our own research, some of which are cited in the Bibliography. We then briefly present our views on the teaching of Mathematics, as well as our choices for the development of content in the second grade Mathematics. [...]
