Description
"Keep all copies of this Latin translation chained and locked. No one who reads it should speak of its content, and no one who knows of it should reveal its existence to the uninitiated, who are unfit to bear such a heavy burden... Better to have his eyes burned out with hot coals and his lips sewn shut with waxed thread than to utter aloud the words of this book, written in the forgotten language that was never meant to be spoken by the sons of Adam, but only by those who have no mouths and dwell in the shadows between the stars."
(Olaus Wormius, in the Preface to the Latin translation of the Necronomicon, 13th century)
The "Necronomicon," the dreadful book mentioned so many times in the works of Philip Lovecraft, finally takes flesh and blood through the pen of one of the greatest contemporary scholars of the occult, Donald Tyson. Its pages parade the ghastly forms of all the Great Old Ones, the Elder Races, and their mad followers, seen through the eyes of the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred during his wanderings in the secret and haunted places of the medieval East, as well as his journeys to distant dimensions and outer worlds. The Cthulhu Mythos finally has its own reference text.

Reviews
It is one of the best books I have ever read and the only one that I read with such passion. It is easy to get carried away on the wrong path while reading it, but that's where the suspense is. The only negative thing I have found is that it ends at some point, even though it has around 231 pages.
