2024-09-10Expert userA Value for Money network terminal crimping tool (RJ-45, 11), suitable for anyone who wants to make Ethernet and telephone cables to their specifications correctly and reliably.
- It is 3 in 1, meaning it cuts the cable, strips it, and crimp it well and strongly so that all 8 contacts and the plastic that holds the cable sheath in the clip are secure.
- The blades on the cutter have screws, so they can be replaced if they wear out.
- I made 5 UTP CAT 6 cables easily and without losses, straight for LAN with the EIA/TIA 568B standard, one large grounded FTP CAT6 with grounded RJ-45, 2 UTP CAT 6 crossover cables, meaning 568A on one end and 568B on the other end for data transfer between two PCs without connecting to a switch, as well as 4 telephone cables with RJ-11. All cables passed the Tester, the crimper did its job without jams and crimped correctly.
- Follow the 568B standard on both ends for a typical Ethernet cable (there is no performance difference from 568A, just 568B is more common in newer installations, and the combination of 568A on one end and 568B on the other end is only for crossover, meaning data transfer from PC to PC (with static IPs and a shared folder) or Router to Router, meaning devices that are at the same level of the OSI standard).
- It looks very similar to the more expensive Knipex crimping tool of about 30€, but this one for 11€ is excellent. I don't know how long it will last, but it will definitely be convenient for an amateur, hobbyist, and professional. The cutter and stripper are okay... But sometimes the press bothered me... I was trying to see what was wrong with the cable and it wasn't working just to find out that not all the pins were pressed correctly. It presses one side more than the other, so I had to press it several times and sometimes flip it to the other side

I expected it to be much better, it seems like it needs careful handling to last over time. Its materials are average, there is no difference in its materials compared to much cheaper ones. The points where you cut the cable or strip it (the cutter) change, but I don't know if they are available as spare parts.
