In the fictional Hope County of Montana, the preacher Joseph Seed proclaims himself as God's chosen one and creates a cult, Eden's Gate, under the pretense of saving the local residents from the end of the world.
In reality, this cult uses unscrupulous means, spreading terror with the aim of establishing a militaristic regime and positioning Seed as the ruler of the county. Our hero is called to ignite the flame of revolution to liberate the people and - with the help of Father Jerome - restore order, while simultaneously eliminating Seed and his subordinates.
Explore Hope County, its rivers, plains, and skies, and take part in epic battles with the largest number of vehicles and weapons ever seen in the Far Cry series! Become the hero in a world that will try to destroy you at every step, where the places you explore and the residents you ally with will change the game's story in unpredictable ways!
New Features in Far Cry 5
Ubisoft Montreal breaks the conventions of its iconic series and redefines some of its key elements: from exploration and story development to co-op and multiplayer gameplay.
Throughout Hope County, rebellious factions are waiting to help you counterattack against the cultists. Save them, recruit them into the resistance, and fight together. Allies can come from anywhere: enlist your friends to join the game cooperatively or team up with animal companions, such as the dog Boomer and the grizzly bear Cheeseburger, who will assist you in their own way.
Local Threat
Enter a war that has been simmering for 15 years. Under the leadership of the self-proclaimed prophet Joseph Seed, the fanatics of Project at Eden's Gate (or "Peggies," as the locals call them) have been gathering weapons, supplies, and members as they prepare for the war that will lead them to take over the region.
As a rookie in the local police force, it is up to you to lead the locals into battle against the cult members and their leaders. How and when you strike, whom you choose to free, and whom you leave behind will affect the outcome of the story.
Full Co-op Game
When trying to dismantle a satanic cult that has captured a small town, it's good to have a friend's help. The entire story of Far Cry 5 is designed for co-op play. Drive around the area in a truck, engage in thrilling dogfights, or lead assaults from the ground on key locations - whatever you do, you can have a friend's help.
Far Cry Arcade
Create and share your missions and levels with Far Cry Arcade, the latest evolution of Far Cry's map editing application that offers you endless free gameplay.
Mix your own creations with familiar material from previous Far Cry games, as well as other Ubisoft titles such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Watch_Dogs, which can be used to create individual, co-op, and PvP multiplayer gaming experiences.

It has a unique story, it is open world and very interesting. The scenery is very beautiful and the whole game has a nice feel to it, like walking in the forest, with the rays of sunlight bathing the trees and wild animals attacking or roaming around. If I were to change something, it would be the whole theme with the enemies; although it is very interesting, I would prefer the enemies not to be religious fanatics, etc. I would prefer something more classic, cartels, paramilitaries, something like that. I have spent many hours in the game and it has 3 different endings. Of the DLCs, I found the one about the Vietnam War the most interesting.
Gameplay and graphics are very good. The combat system and driving, the world, are improved compared to previous Far Cry games. And the world is beautiful. From these alone, the game is worth its money. However, let's get to what I didn't like.
1) The character. Literally, none. He has no background, no personality, and NEVER SPEAKS. He doesn't say a word, nothing. You had Jason Brody, you had A.J., and now this?
2) The storyline. The main villain with 3 subordinates controlling each region. It's very tiring to finish a mission, be notified that they're coming for you, get drugged, get kidnapped, and escape as if nothing happened. And all of this happens several times throughout the game. Also, this thing with hallucinations is as tiresome as anything else. How many more times will you put this in your games? Another flaw of the story is that as it unfolds, it doesn't have a proper continuity. To unlock main missions, many times you'll need to do random side quests. As for the villains? They talk a lot, but you don't gain anything from them. At first, they seem intimidating, but then you realize how indifferent they are.
3) The AI. The enemies take too long to notice you. Sometimes you can see them and manage to knock them out with your hands. Your teammates also get stuck many times and don't help you. Which, to be fair, is a nice addition when it works properly.
Despite all this, the game is worth its money, especially for someone who hasn't played many Far Cry games. But for more money, definitely not.
The first Far Cry I'm playing and I really wonder why I didn't get it earlier.. endless action and gunplay with very nice graphics and music...! In my opinion, great value for money!
It exhausted me incredibly and I gave up on it. I had the exact same experience with 2, while I enjoyed 3 and 4. The series no longer has anything to offer me.
It is still a far cry. It does not bring anything different compared to previous titles. Those who have played the previous ones will have absolutely no problem with the mechanics and gameplay. It was a classic far cry with a different plot, different characters, world, and some improvements.
As for the gameplay, it is simply good, I did not see any groundbreaking changes. The shooting is as always nice but not the best, the driving is easy and enjoyable, and it should be noted that it is the first in the series to bring many models, not only cars but also fighter helicopters, planes, and boats. However, using them makes the game's completion quite easy. Stealth is present and optional.
The world is once again beautiful and diverse.
On the other hand, I found the plot a bit shallow compared to previous games in the series. The characters are all uninteresting except for the main villain of the game (Joseph Seed).
As for the multiplayer, I have no opinion because I could not find people to play with. I read some opinions from others who describe the multiplayer as mediocre and boring after a short period of time. On the other hand, the co-op is extremely fun and definitely compensates for any flaws in other aspects of the game.
The improvements it underwent are simply the removal of some requirements from previous games, such as climbing towers to uncover the map or hunting animals to upgrade your equipment. These activities were more like chores.
I believe everyone, even the company itself, has realized that far cry games only invest in gameplay, world, and villain, disregarding the plot. So anyone interested in the game's story will be unsatisfied.
The gameplay is fantastic, with lots of cool weapons and very well-designed vehicles. The controls for the airplanes are a bit different from the shooter to classic, but overall it's great.
Campaign/Story:
The story is really good, with many characters having different and unique personalities. The only thing that personally bothers me is that you can finish it in 3-5 days, but that's just personal preference.
Map:
The map is huge, with a thousand and two things to discover in every corner. You can help various citizens, liberate several outposts, explore caves, forests, mountain peaks, and so much more.
Graphics:
The graphics are really good for a game released in 2018, they're fantastic! The details in nature are amazing, as well as in small objects. The only thing I've noticed that slightly affects the graphics is that gloves/clothes can look a bit square, but it's understandable.
Overall, the game is really nice, beautiful, and has a lot of things to do/places to discover, along with an interesting story. It's 2021 and definitely worth the money 100%
To Far Cry 5, far exceeds the player's expectations, compared to 4.
Amazing scenario, open world and battle options and side missions in order to upgrade your equipment and character before even starting the main missions.
The missions where you gather points for upgrades are worth it, and once you unlock the Air-Drop & Wingsuit, exploring the open world becomes a game.
I also said to start from 5, it doesn't even give you the chance to learn how the game works, they just eat you no matter what you do. It's like they're telling you that since you got the 5, then you know how it works... The only thing they managed to do was to break my nerves, nothing more
The first game in the series that I got and it's simply amazing! Beautiful graphics, a very large open world with many activities to do, decent story, the combat is fantastic and liberating enemy camps is the best part! The AI is a bit dumb but still the game remains exciting. You won't get bored easily and it's worth getting it at its price. Just buy it!
Just got it, fell in love with it in 1 month, finished it and only played it on weekends. Finished it with my friend over 3 times, I also really like Joseph and Faith. It's definitely worth the money and more
It is incredibly fun, it's like every other Far Cry without necessarily being bad, the action is always at high levels, it has a beautiful environment with many things to do and discover, the graphics are fantastic and of course the gameplay is very good. Especially at this price, I would recommend it to everyone
If you are a fan of Far Cry, you buy it blindly. Excellent value for money, just like the previous titles. Certainly, the protagonist is boring, but the missions, atmosphere, and cooperation with allies more than make up for it. If someone has no experience with Far Cry, they should initially focus on acquiring perks and unlocking as many abilities as possible, as this will make the missions easier.
I had started it a year ago, playing for a month, I got bored, and I started it again during the quarantine.
Conclusion, the game is chaotic and doesn't have a proper continuity. Sometimes you just do missions that don't make sense and are not related to the game.
You have to spend endless hours to fully complete it. These are just tricks, of course.
For me, it gets a 3.5 due to good value graphics and its heavy reputation.
Perhaps the best Far Cry game. After the disappointing 4, fans like myself were justified with the 5. Perhaps the best story in a singleplayer game, combined with interesting missions and good gameplay. I finished it after a few days (it's relatively big as it is open world) and now I eagerly await playing Far Cry New Dawn to find out what happened after the explosion. I recommend it if you enjoy adventure games. Of course, players of other game types can also play it and won't be disappointed. The only negative is the multiplayer, which I consider a bit useless as the single player is where it's at
While it offers a lot as a game, it doesn't capture your interest. There is no climax. Monotonous story missions. Huge map and you really get bored wandering around.
The addition of helpers in missions is nice.
The worst part is that while you're playing without any enemies, missions open up and you find yourself imprisoned by someone without any justification. I was just driving and suddenly found myself in a cell.
Although I really liked Far Cry 4, this one is huge and chaotic
Beautiful graphics, the game captures the interest. The scenario is not something original. It's worth playing again for a second time. The continuation in the new dawn.
Candidate for the Oscar for the worst game of the decade. Apart from the graphics, which are very beautiful and clear, everything else is sloppy work by amateurs. Initially, while the story has an interesting and innovative background, it is destroyed by irrelevant and boring missions, with zero flow and continuity. The character is more indifferent, more lifeless than Peppa Pig, chaos ensues around him, his friends are killed, he is kidnapped, tortured, and he doesn't have a word to say for over 20 hours of gameplay.
Furthermore, it is very easy, the opponents are blind (they can't see you within a meter), inaccurate (they can't hit you within half a meter), clumsy (they kill themselves), and have severe dementia (they see you, you hide behind a barrel, and suddenly they forget that someone was shooting at them). In other words, the Al system is like it was made by a 5-year-old, we're talking about sloppy work in all its glory. Having played previous titles, and truly great games like FC3, this one appears twice as bad. It's only worth it if you got it for free, and even then, maybe! Now, if you like easy games, poorly made ones that underestimate human intelligence, then go ahead and get it. 3/10, generously!⭐⭐
Guys, you were unjustifiably disappointed by the ending. It has a continuation and it's called new dawn. Otherwise, it's a classic far cry title, which didn't bother me at all. If you're a fan of the series, just take it.
Very good game, I've been wanting to buy it for a long time and finally got it! Even though I've played all the previous Far Cry games, with the first one being my favorite, the rest didn't impress me and I got bored of them relatively quickly, especially Primal, which I consider a bad game. On the other hand, Far Cry 5 is very entertaining with lots of things to do and discover. The story is average, but I didn't have high expectations to be honest, it does its job just fine. The sound is excellent, my only complaint is that some weapons could have better sound effects and explosions. The map is satisfying with beautiful landscapes and many animals to hunt. I highly recommend it!
Nice graphics, classic FPS-style battle system, great story, plenty of things to do, enjoyable missions. One of the worst endings I've seen in a video game. To such an extent that it makes you regret the hours you wasted playing. Inexcusable at best, it ruined the entire game. Play the whole game and skip the last mission. Seriously. The price needs to drop even more as well.
It's wonderful, anyone who hasn't played just doesn't know what they're missing. Personally, I finished it and I'm going to finish it again for a second time!
UBISOFT should have merged the cutscenes with the gameplay. I have noticed in many of their games that this aspect is lacking, resulting in constant loadings and discontinuity. If this changes, it will achieve an even more beautiful game, like for example, God of War. Although it is a single-camera game (which makes it one of the top games), the flow between gameplay and cutscenes is amazing and enchanting! In my opinion, it is an exceptional open world game with plenty of challenges and an intriguing story mode, except for the long loadings
Good.... but the AI is a bit annoying, otherwise the dogfights give a pleasant mood. Good story.... okay, that's it.... but you don't get bored quickly.... the multiplayer is fine, they say, but a little lie.... the Lost on Mars and Zombies are worth buying for about 20 euros.... they are nice...
The gameplay does not have any particular innovations compared to the previous ones, except for the nice feeling of flying an airplane and a helicopter. The missions do not require much imagination. It is not groundbreaking, a step forward, so to speak, but it remains entertaining. No, it is not bad, it just happens that, unbelievable as it may seem, the previous Far Cry games were all better. Or maybe I liked the previous ones so much that this one definitely did not surpass them, except for Far Cry 3 Future and Primal, which I have no opinion on because I have not played them. My comment may sound like I am criticizing the game, but that's not the case. It has nice graphics, easy controls, it is big, and most importantly, it is enjoyable. But it is not better than the previous ones! One thing I can say is that Far Cry is the best first-person shooter game series ever created. Of course, I recommend it.
Excellent game! I won't compare Far Cry 3 as I didn't have the privilege to play it, but I can say that Far Cry 5 thrilled me. Great story, very good graphics, the sound could have been better but it's not that bad. It doesn't get boring and it's good to take it slow to enjoy it, and not skip the story like many do. Personally, I loved both different endings, although I find the third "secret" ending unnecessary. In a few words, I highly recommend it!
Far Cry 5 takes place in the hope country of Montana, where Joseph Seed, known to many as The Father, has instilled terror and fear in the hearts of the region's citizens with his cult and his demonic followers. As a deputy sheriff, you try to "cleanse" Montana from the cult, save its inhabitants, and put The Father in prison. Personally, the game disappointed me because it could have offered more than it ultimately did. While the multiplayer was enjoyable, the story and most of the characters were uninteresting. Additionally, it is worth noting that during the game, a stupid pattern of kidnappings by The Father's henchmen is repeated, reaching a total of four in each of the three regions. So, in general, the strong points of the game are the multiplayer and the gameplay. If you were expecting an interesting and well-written storyline, you will be very disappointed, and I recommend playing it with friends because it is much better and more entertaining that way. I hope this helps you.
