It seems that the problem mentioned by people below has been fixed! What I received has a flawless finish. Otherwise, it is perfect in every way. A regular tool.
Good evening, I will agree with tasos_alexopoulos regarding the observations. I bought the exact same thing a year ago and had the same problem with everything it shows. I thought I was the only one, but it seems to be a manufacturing defect in the batch. However, they are still great tools
Gem. The texture of its handles is indescribable, you enjoy working with it. I also have the plain one with the red-blue handle, I chose to get this one for insulation. They are excellent tools from a brand that never disappoints.
I have great respect for Knipex as I have purchased other tools from them in the past and besides the high quality of materials, they also have very good construction quality (and precision) (it is not accidental that they have a lifetime warranty certification for their tools). Unfortunately, I cannot give this tool 5 stars because I have noticed flaws that I did not expect from such a giant with a manufacturing country like Germany. The tool came in its brand new box and as soon as I opened it, I started to notice scratches, metal tips protruding at the corners of the two parts' joints. Additionally, the tool seemed to have not been assembled correctly. Uneven distances in the joints and the tips clearly show the difference from the flat part to the pointed part is not the same in both parts (I am attaching photos if you can distinguish them). A good quality tool, but I have not seen such flaws with cheaper brands, not with Knipex. It's a shame that even these big German (premium) companies are starting to compromise on quality.
