Tested daily for 2 and a half months so far. Purchased on Black Friday 2018 for 159 euros (until that date there was no better price and the product was sold for 219 euros) from the company Puredry, which has recently upgraded its website, discontinued online sales, and extended the warranty period from 2 to 5 years. Although at the time of purchase the warranty was for 2 years, I later submitted the product declaration online, contacted the helpful staff in Drama (where the company is based), and they told me "you have a 5-year warranty!" After a while, I received an email confirming the 5-year warranty.
Well, the machine is probably more suitable for a home with many difficulties, where its value will be more evident. Personally, I use it in a north-facing room of 25 square meters (with high ceilings), in a house without insulation (only brick and mortar) and in a low-lying area with a lot of humidity throughout the year. HOWEVER, I open the doors of the room every day to allow for air circulation (even in the winter mornings and afternoons). I then turn it on and in 20-30 minutes, it reaches the 40% humidity level that I set. This is with closed windows and doors in the other rooms. Since humidity generally moves towards the drier area, the Puredry draws moisture from the rest of the house under the internal doors (like a vacuum cleaner), and its efficiency is evident as it fills up its small 2-liter container faster.
*I also purchased a 6-euro activated carbon filter along with the dehumidifier, which is not included in the package but was sold as a spare part for the 10-liter model. This filter does not cover the entire surface of the main filter of this 8-liter dehumidifier (it leaves a 2-centimeter gap around it and reduces the motor's capacity by about 10%).
-HEALTH: My average doesn't hurt when I wake up in the morning, as if I dug in my sleep, a clearly cleaner environment and a better feeling due to the ionizer. Honestly, whenever I enter a room with a lot of humidity, the difference is noticeable - we have become more comfortable. Personally, as a non-smoker, the others don't smoke at all inside the house, so I easily notice the difference when smoke enters from the fireplaces and burners in the area into the room - our machine, combined with the activated carbon filter, eliminates it in 10-15 minutes.
-HEAT: Yes, it heats up the room (when it operates continuously for at least half an hour on the HIGH setting) due to the zeolite.
-80's MODE: Poor performance. A major drawback is that there are no indications of humidity in the room. The desired humidity levels that the user can select are limited to 3 scales: 40%-50%-60%.
-PRICE: Below 170 euros, it is value for money for someone who doesn't need it as much as the writer. The price difference for the next model, the 10-liter Puredry, which has digital indicators (and costs at least 100 euros more), is very large. Over time, you will get used to living without them...
-TOOL for those who have a real struggle with humidity. I tested it one day with open windows when it was raining heavily and it was pulling in water continuously. Mopping the floors and taking a hot shower will no longer be a reason to open the windows and let the cold in. BUT BE CAREFUL with excessive "sterilization" of the spaces! Daily ventilation of the house is necessary, do not neglect the advice of the elders!
-NOISE: A LOT! In a large open space, you get used to it and forget about it, but in a room it makes so much noise that it almost distracts you from using your computer or reading a book, even on the medium setting. No way am I operating it while sleeping.
-ZEOLITE ODOR: Put it to work for the first 5-6 hours outdoors! I made the mistake of getting close to see how it works and it almost suffocated me, I seriously considered returning it! Be patient, the initial odor will go away and won't come back. Of course, I always let the fan run to dry the zeolite (this happens when you turn off the machine) and I don't unplug it directly from the socket.
-PRACTICALITY: It may not have wheels, but the carrying handle is sturdy and overall the machine is lightweight for easy transportation. The plastic doesn't creak. The package also includes a hose that you attach to the dehumidifier and connect to a drain, so it can operate continuously (ideal for vacation homes, warehouses, or spaces you don't supervise for long periods of time). The water that ends up in the bucket is deionized, salt-free, ideal for steam irons, windshield wipers, car refrigerators, etc. It would be a waste to throw it away, you'll end up becoming a junkie and wandering the neighborhood: "Mrs. Soula, do you want deionized water?"
-OPERATING COST: As I mentioned before, I use it in a room and it quickly reduces humidity. We didn't see any difference in the first electricity bill. Personally, I believe that the extra 50~100 euros someone would spend on zeolite technology will be offset by the machine's greater efficiency, especially at lower temperatures. It also goes into standby mode once it reaches the desired results and resumes operation if the humidity rises in the room. ZEOLITE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO FOR ROOM TEMPERATURES BELOW 17 DEGREES.
-RELIABLE COMPANY: Helpful and polite with every question at the headquarters. It's a Greek company with "our own people," even though it's manufactured in China (this particular model is almost identical to the Inventor Rise RS3ION-8L).
-FINAL CONCLUSION: You should get this specific tool because the paint is peeling off the walls, the wooden cabinets are starting to swell, you wake up from sleep with aching bones, you have allergies, you have a baby and can't open the windows, you don't raise the temperature too much in the house or basement and the "other" compressor dehumidifier will run all day and you'll become a shareholder of the electricity company before it lowers the humidity.
