At first I was happily surprised cause it worked pretty good on different types of soil. But then after 5-6 days of use it broke right where the screw starts.
It broke from a moderate wind blow while holding a Maui 180 cm umbrella

I have been using it on my kayak for 2 years now in the sea in Naxos. It has survived two winters with little wear and now we are going through the second summer. Strong and holds up very well in the strong winds and waves. I trust it with a stainless steel chain 1200 euros kayak. I bought it from Sklavenitis. I filled it inside with anti-mold silicone and pieces of lead as the bottom is only rocks and stones. In sandy bottom, the base fills with sand and becomes one with the bottom.

Personally, it didn't work for me. It can't go deep enough into the sand to hold a large umbrella (2.2m diameter) in moderate wind.

I bought two, both broke! I won't give them a third chance, it seems sturdy construction but it breaks.

I bought 2 of these. In order for the umbrella to be stable, the base needs to be inserted deep into the sand. It would be better if it had larger pegs. It is very good. It also has adapters for different sizes of tubes.
