Description

Richard Dawkins, a leading evolutionary biologist and author of many now-classic works of science and philosophy, has always stated unequivocally that belief in God is an irrationality that has caused many social ills. In this book, he offers a fierce critique of the idea of God in all its forms, from the sex-obsessed, callous tyrant of the Old Testament to the more mild, yet also irrational, Celestial Watchmaker preferred by some Enlightenment thinkers. He dismantles the main arguments in favor of religion and demonstrates that the existence of a supreme being is an absolutely unlikely possibility. He describes how religion fuels war, fosters intolerance, and abuses the minds and souls of children. (...) [Excerpt from publisher or edition presentation text]

Extremely well-written and detailed book that proves with evidence that there is no proof of the existence of God. I highly recommend it

One of the most enjoyable books of popular science. Full of arguments, scientific and religious references that you want to google. Informative and humorous. Masterpiece.

An excellent book (by Richard Dawkins) with hundreds of references and scientific evidence, which tries to prove in a simple and understandable way the non-existence of God or at least that there is no evidence for His existence. However, in some parts, especially in the chapter on "memes," it becomes somewhat tedious as it becomes too extensive. Other than that, I consider the book to be very good.
Dawkins' writing style is quite intelligent.
