For us, it was the only teething toy that did the job! He loved it from the first moment and used it constantly until about 15 months old.
Anyone who reads the instructions will see that yes, it cannot be washed under water but with a cloth.
The colors indeed fade relatively easily because they are completely natural, specifically designed to be safe for the child's mouth. But at least in our case, I noticed wear and tear after a year. And not after the first wash, as I read. And imagine, my little one had chewed on it so much.
Now it is one of my top choices for a newborn gift.
The only reason I deduct one star is because it is expensive for something that will mainly be used for a year, and like all baby products, some babies will like it, while others won't.
I bought the product in April 2021 and started using it in October when my child turned 5 months old. From the beginning, it had a rubbery texture, but I didn't pay much attention to it because I thought it was normal. As soon as we started using it, after washing it with soap and warm water as the instructions stated (not sterilization, not hot water), the teether collected excessive amounts of lint and hair when the baby held it. I contacted the company, which refused to deal with the issue because it had been purchased months ago. I will not buy another product from this company, not only because I received a defective product but also because of the nonexistent after-sales service. We are talking about products that are intended for infants, and even if they didn't offer a replacement, they should have investigated the issue further (lot number, store of purchase, etc.)
Of all the chew toys, this one is loved! It is safe. You who write about the colors, etc., obviously it will start to fade, especially if you don't read the instructions and are clueless! Learn to read the instructions finally, I have been using it for two months and it hasn't faded yet, washing with soap and rinsing with water while closing the little hole to prevent moisture from getting in. I RECOMMEND IT UNRESERVEDLY
We had tried almost everything and the other one, the giraffe, but this one has not left her at all; it helps her a lot
It's the worst. It has a hole from which water fills up when you wash it, so when the baby sucks on it, the dirty water comes out and ends up in their mouth. Choose something else.
It is not bad as a product, in terms of quality I mean. I don't know if it's worth its money, neither my daughter nor my niece were excited about it. (8 months and 1 year old respectively).
The only negative is that water can easily get into the hole. If you follow the instructions for washing with a damp cloth, it is the nicest thing to chew on. I had bought it in the first place and she was biting it until it broke.
Everyone talks about Sophie... I tried it on our baby too... and it is successful! She happily chews on it!
The baby started using it as a teether at around 4 months. After less than a month of use, it started peeling off without the baby having any teeth. Washing it is very difficult. Fluff sticks to it, so it needs to be washed with water, but you have to be careful not to let water get into the deck and stop the sound
The little one didn't show much interest, so I don't have an opinion. Definitely expensive and overrated. However, those who say that it fades and holds water from the little hole it has, should read the instructions. They mention that the colors are plant-based and it is expected to fade, and cleaning should be done with a damp cloth and not regular washing.
Is it possible for Sophie to fade like this??!!! I tried to clean it with a wipe and it started fading!! And it fades with water too. So how do you clean it?? Supposedly, it's a toy for the child to put in their mouth. Tragic and unacceptable!!!
She likes it a lot! It's a shame I didn't get it for my first child! She chews on it from everywhere! Its material is so soft and flexible that it makes me want to chew on it too! Very good design, no matter how she turns it, she can put it in her mouth!!!
My baby loves it from 3 months old! I expected it to last about a month in order to have a proper evaluation mainly due to the negative comments that it fades. I wash it many times throughout the day, either with warm or cold water! I gently rub it with dish soap and the brush we use to clean the bottles, closing the whistle hole with my finger. It hasn't faded at all in color nor has anything changed! I am waiting to see how long it will last over time
The only teething toy that worked really well. Many points from which it can be held firmly. One of my children chewed on the head while the other was comfortable with the feet. It is easy to clean. The colors faded relatively easily, but it is logical since it is made with natural dyes. The sound it makes is gentle and not at all annoying.
It is the only teething toy that really did its job!! It didn't leave my baby's hands and mouth. I give it a star because it does fade. Of course, it is made of natural materials, but it is still a product intended for babies. The breaking of the neck came after over a year of continuous use, and I consider it normal since it is made of more natural materials suitable for babies.
update: It didn't have the same success with the second child
It fades, opens at the ends, and is unsuitable for babies after half a year of use. Very expensive and overhyped.
It fades and fades a lot. The company's response that they use confectionery colors and not to worry does not cover me at all. The baby is 4 months old and still drinks milk, so why exactly should he eat confectionery color? Unacceptable product but even more unacceptable company.
She has loved it! It is a soft construction and she can chew and bite everything. Perfect!
I couldn't agree more with the negative reviews. The worst thing of all is not only that it faded with the first wash (cold water), but that this could happen on the baby's mouth. Stay away!
It fades as soon as it is washed, collects water from the back hole, and besides that, it started to break from the sides of the neck. Such a shame for all the advertising and money.
In the first use, it stained the hands and mouth of the baby!!!! Unacceptable!!!!!!! It's a shame that such products are being circulated and especially that they cost so much!
Much ado about nothing.
The giraffe is not as popular as my children seem to think, dogs play with it more.
With the same amount of money, you can buy more toys to keep your child interested
It is also a very playful but useful toy for its teething! Our baby loves it very much
About 2 years. When she used it, she liked it a lot, she would bite it and enjoy it, but it just lost its color, unacceptable - completely unsuitable product for babies.
It is suitable for babies over 5+ because it is big enough for their hands and mouth. The whistle was never heard due to washing. It faded within a month again due to washing. When the baby entered the 5th month and started playing with it finally, it tore. One star because it is too expensive. My baby has the same interest in other much cheaper teething toys that I bought, which are exactly as I bought them and did not break with washing.
We also got Sophie. She didn't seem to be more interested in this teether than others with much less money. Besides being expensive, I think the only reason is the advertisement. Another negative aspect is that when you wash it, water enters through a hole in the back, which is stored (no matter how hard you try to remove it because it gets stuck in her legs, etc.) and comes out at an unexpected time after days, which makes it unhygienic. Additionally, it has lost its squeak when you squeeze it.
Very pleasant ... the little one really likes it .. she constantly bites her little legs and seems to find relief.
Wherever we go, our Sophie keeps us company.
This is the second one we bought, unfortunately, we lost the first one!
4 stars instead of 5 because it has lost its color.
Sophie, who is world-renowned, couldn't manage to make our little one like her, but obviously she is not to blame for that. However, she gives the impression that she can withstand a lot of abuse.
Very good choice of game. The baby doesn't let go of it. The price is a bit steep though.
Like with all teething toys, it is uncertain whether it will suit the child. Our baby usually gets annoyed after chewing on it for a bit and we end up taking it away. The same thing happens with other teething toys, but I'm only giving it 3 stars because Sophie is one of the most expensive ones by far. Additionally, it has another negative aspect, the hole for the whistle, which makes it difficult to clean.
I give it 4 stars because my little one is 5 months old and I currently don't see much interest. We also have little Sophie who has been using it for 3 months until today!! I think it is quite big for such small babies!!
The best teething toy that exists!!! My daughter has been playing with it since she was 5 months old until now at 10, and we can't go anywhere without it. Imagine that it got torn after so much use, so I went and bought her a second one... I would buy it again for a third and fourth time if needed. She grabs it from everywhere, chews on her feet, her ears, and overall Sophie. I don't take away any stars, even though the colors fade after a while, because my child has enjoyed it so much, that's enough for me!!! I highly recommend it!!!
