In the three discourses of the sacred Chrysostom contained in this issue (on death, the future judgment, and the enjoyment of future goods), these issues that intensely concern people and our era are examined. The unknown end of our life and the fear that arises in the face of death, our separation from loved ones, especially small children or only children, the necessity of punishing the wicked and rewarding the virtuous in the afterlife, the benefit from performing memorials for the deceased, the magnitude of hell for sinners who will live eternally deprived of the sight of God, the convincing comparison of the goods of the present to the goods of the future life, are aspects examined by the sacred author. His argumentation is convincing, grounded in Scripture, philosophy, and logic. The benefit from reading the three discourses is assured. Spiritual and mental support is guaranteed.
