This is a seat, not a bench. The previous reviewer has been confused, if they wanted something taller then they need a bench. The seat aims to leave the shoulder blades free, as they participate in shoulder exercises and need to move freely. In my opinion, the vertical section could be a little shorter. Good and sturdy construction, it comes assembled.

A remarkable bench that will meet the needs of advanced exercisers. In heavy weight presses, it could have slightly better support in the middle if it were a little taller. E.F
