In DC electric motors, at the point where the electric current is supplied to their rotating part, two brushes (also called carbon brushes) are used. Over time, due to friction, the brushes wear out and need to be replaced. For this reason, in recent years, brushless electric motors have been developed, which greatly surpass a brushed motor.
Advantages
Due to the absence of brushes, they exhibit minimal mechanical wear and the need for maintenance is minimized.

It doesn't even deserve half a star....that's why I'm giving it one.....Never again Dewalt, I don't even want it as a gift!! Obviously, it works off-center, my service tells me that it's within the company's standards...and I laugh. It also has many gaps and it's not the chuck's fault but the axis. The bad thing is that I have high standards with Milwaukee and Metabo that I work with, but it definitely doesn't deserve its price. A power of 3J, battery of 2.6J, and power of 7J....in the first month, all three went to service four times. The worst experience....give something more to professionals and get something else to have peace of mind. Those of you who talk about power, etc. surely haven't worked with professional tools, parkside is better.
I have it for several years, about 5-6, and I have no complaints. Very powerful. I read that it has some interruptions, but I have only noticed it with 4s and lower batteries. With 5s, which I usually use, I have no issues.
I have had the machine for 3 years. The first year it didn't go well, it would stop working and I had to press the switch again for it to work. I took it to the service center twice, the first time they told me that when only one light turns on, it means the battery needs to be charged. The second time they told me they changed the motor and switch, but when I used it again, it still stopped working. Eventually, I solved the problem myself by holding the battery in my hand and realized that the issue was with the contacts that the battery connects to. By crossing the contacts with pliers, the problem was solved and now it works until the power drops.
The machine is very powerful, it can dig up to 40cm of concrete easily. It may slightly overflow the holes, but I think it's due to its power.
It is one of the best tools in its category, some have just underestimated it. So, the fact that it breaks down is due to the battery because the tool consumes a lot of power, as it delivers 2.6 joules, it is logical, we can't have it all. In order to reduce breakdowns, we will need to get a larger battery, for example, a 9A or 12A. Now, as for the fact that it works off-center, it is true, but it won't be a big problem for someone who will be drilling alpha blocks and the like. The vibration it has is because the tool is very powerful and the manufacturer focused more on drilling and less on perforation, with a new chisel and genuine company parts, you will solve your problem. I am an electrician and I drill 6'' concrete ceilings to install socket supports, and I don't have such a problem. I see that it opens slightly more, but it doesn't turn the screwdriver.
I bought it at 09:00 in the morning, returned it at 09:30 with great disappointment because, as previous friends mentioned in the reviews, it was malfunctioning. They sent it to the service center and returned it to me after a long time, saying that there is no issue and that I am strange. I continue to work with it, thinking that they are right, but in the end...
Very powerful!! The use I make of it is amateur but it cannot be compared to cheap tools I had. You understand the quality of the tool. For me, it is perfect, however, it is not off-center in drilling.
The tool is off-center, I sent it for repair and they didn't do anything, the dealership doesn't answer the phone. I will take it back to the store where I bought it and if it's not resolved, I will ask for a refund of 300€, which is not a small amount. The tool has been used three times, I don't use it heavily. As a technician for 25 years, I have never seen anything similar, not even in a cheap Chinese tool. If someone from the dealership wants to contact me, I would be happy to communicate with them.
In less than a year, it gave me a problem, maybe it's in the battery. When I press the trigger, it works for a while and then stops, and I have to release the trigger to press it again to finish the drilling. The usage I give it is very light... I use it for electrical work to install lights... 6 holes... A colleague told me that with a 5-amp battery, the issue is solved... I bought another battery and we'll see... That's the first issue... Second problem... it turns off-center, causing the holes to be misaligned. If you're drilling into a wall, you need 6 holes but you'll need 8 plugs to screw in... Personally, I won't buy DeWalt again because it gave me a problem again, and a friend of mine bought a Parkside compressor for half the price and it doesn't have any issues... If you want to buy it, don't get it with batteries, just get the bare tool if you want, and buy 5-amp batteries
I entered to evaluate it and I am surprised to see negative comments.
I have had it since December 2017.
I am a refrigeration technician and I install air conditioners while also installing security systems and cameras.
The first time I used it, I burst into nervous laughter at how easily it opened a transparent hole of 35mm with a glass drill bit in a brick.
In general, I make 5 holes of M8 for the indoor unit, 6 holes of M10 for the outdoor unit, 1 hole of 35mm for the pipes, I tighten the middle with a Philips bit, and the outer part with a 13mm polygon. It is so lightweight that I don't use a screwdriver. I use a cone drill bit to open holes for drainage. I do everything with this tool. It is my screwdriver now.
It is also useful for small things like breaking plaster in demolitions.
I set up a room with panels and used it for self-drilling 13mm screws.
What can I say? Maybe it worked out well for me, maybe it will turn out bad for you.
Even if it breaks today (knock on wood), I will buy it again.
P.S. If I upload a video, I will provide you with a link
I spent 300 euros and from the first moment I tried to use the drill, it was off-center, resulting in the tool being useless as it creates oversized holes. I returned it for inspection and they didn't even bother to hold it in their hands to see it. Instead, they tried to convince me that THIS IS HOW THESE THINGS WORK and suggested that I use a smaller drill bit than the hole I want to drill! Unbelievable. Completely unprofessional treatment. Dewalt will never see me again, nor my hard-earned money
This particular tool is a waste of money. We have seven of these pieces at work. They were bought brand new and after a month, almost all of them broke. They are very low-quality tools
For this money, with this speed and this impact, I have never caught any other equivalent before!!!!
Buy it with your eyes closed
