When you get a Victorinox, you know that everything is perfectly designed. My colleagues at work have similar tools from Leatherman, but when they held this one in their hands, they all admitted its fit in the hand, sturdiness, and quality. I mainly use the pliers and the blade, which cuts effortlessly, and I have used the saw and the file. Each attachment locks securely and requires some force to be cut.
A tank in your pocket! If you want something lightweight, this is not for you, even though they maximize the size. I have nothing to mention about its features, they have already been written. I will only say that it is a well-designed tool, made and works like a clock mechanism. Soft steel in the screwdriver so it doesn't break, hard blade, definitely stainless (after all, the alloy is a secret, all we know is that it contains chromium). Separate springs for each tool so it comes out without dragging the adjacent one. The precision pliers with centered jaws, no matter how much you search, you won't find any manufacturing flaw
This tool has excellent construction, with attention to detail. It satisfactorily covers all possible situations where you would need a tool for a quick job. The case they provide is of very good quality and contains all the additional accessories gathered inside.
Basically, because there are also leatherman tools, there should be a comparison.
It is larger than a comparable wave, but if you include the wave's accessories, they come in the same size/volume that you have to carry, and they don't give you a case to have everything gathered in the wave.
This one has pliers to tie, the other brand has screws - so this is a downside.
In this one, all the tools open very easily from one side and lock - in the other brand, they don't.
This one has stronger and more durable tools - the other brand has lowered the quality a lot in recent years and they rust and break.
It is chunky and simple, the other brand makes them more beautiful and intricate.
It is more economical for the package it provides - for example, to get a quality leather case from the other brand, you would have to pay an additional 50 euros, to get the bits along with an extension, another 60-90 euros. And it is also more economical as a tool with better quality.
And as someone obsessed with these tools, you will eventually get both brands... but in the end, you will use the more capable one for something more difficult (which is this tool)
