A living legend is re-released. I gave it as a gift to my grandmother in the dark blue color (of course) for her birthday (she had the original 3310 when it was released and kept it for years) in the dual SIM version for 46 euros. She and I both love it. Flawless device, very clean and nice screen, good camera compared to the competition at this price, Nokia durability, Nokia speakers (I don't need to say anything else about the last two). The only negative (which many people have mentioned) is that you can't store more than one contact element in a single contact. To add, for example, a mobile and a landline to a contact, you have to create two separate contacts (e.g. John Doe mobile, John Doe landline). Otherwise, PERFECT.
I bought the phone and when I activated it I found out that it is a clone fake I gave it to a technician and he assured me he said it is a clone do not buy from the store.
It recognizes the SIM normally but has no signal, meaning in the SIM 1 slot it says Cosmote for example but without any signal bars. We called the number ... out of 5 times it rang twice, the other times it showed as closed. In summary, I requested a refund; I don't want either a repair or a replacement. A mobile phone has one job: to make calls. If you can't do this job, I don't care about the rest. I'm waiting for the courier tomorrow to deliver it and to have my money put back in my account. Maybe the one that came to me was defective; I don't care much, very fake, if the construction has nothing to do with what we had years ago.
Stay away!!! It has nothing to do with the 2017 model. Instead of 16 G, it has 0.016. It doesn't even have Bluetooth like the old one!!!! It doesn't fit anything!!!!!
In the search for contacts, the names do not appear and you have to scroll up and down with the keys to find the contact. It also does not recognize the memory card, which the previous 3310 that I am currently using recognizes normally. The phone has obviously stopped being circulated, and for this reason, the major retail chains do not sell it. It is simply a bad copy... it has many differences from the same model that was released in 2017 even though it is supposed to be the same... just stay away... if I could, I would give it zero!!!!!!
The menu is unclear, it is a poor translation from a foreign language. Otherwise, it meets the requirements of such a phone well. However, the bad menu makes it unnecessarily difficult for the elderly.
Dignified for calls, messages, and music. For nothing else. It is perfect for detoxing from smartphones. The battery lasts for a week. It is a small and beautiful basic phone.
After 6 months of careful operation, it stopped reading the SD card. A tooth in the slot broke, and it's not worth replacing. The issue is that without the SD card, it can't hold more than 3 photos... What a waste of money...
EDIT 12/24/24 for contact search on a clone like mine which I have among the 150 that is difficult up and down, the only solution to work is menu-contacts-2nd option search, press the first letter it shows up, if not try without uppercase if the contact doesn't have uppercase or put the first letter of the contact uppercase for easier access.
EDIT 12/15/24...after years the microphone broke and I decided to get the same one because it has the notes and some other things that the new Nokia models no longer include, the phone almost everything circulating now is a clone (I see there is a current batch of these 2024/3/29 in the photos the gray phone) it doesn't have Bluetooth (the original does) much smaller memory, it doesn't have Greek letters on the keys, if you put even 3-5 minutes of music or just a few photos it fills up, it definitely needs a card (everything transfers from PC with a cable) the keys 4/5/6 don't light up well, the back cover doesn't fit from the old one because it has different cuts...and some minor issues because it has different hardware (MT6261) for example the calendar takes up to 5 events due to very limited memory, while it has voice recording it doesn't record phone calls, there are no settings options in the camera, the screen standby on/off/1 hour makes no difference, the radio doesn't have RDS etc. as well as in the latest reviews mention some quirks...despite all this I kept it because for phone calls it is very good for me maybe better than the original, the alarm will ring again even if it doesn't go into snooze which in the original wouldn't ring again if I didn't hear it to put it on snooze, the SMS messages have a separate inbox, outbox, send (in the original they were all in one, chaos) and for other reasons.
Initial review Original
-personally no relation to the 20-year-old Nokia 3310, different software, different buttons, shape, screen, functionality, icons, handling etc., however it is indeed a beautiful thin/small phone
-ideal for someone who wants something simple and is not interested in apps, social, video/photo mania, and I due to age (53 now) preferred it coming from a simple cheap smartphone
-clear speech/speaker/music/calls/good settings
-sturdy construction has fallen several times and withstood despite that the covers don't move as mentioned,
-long battery life
-and even with the phone closed alarms, calendar work
-for the internet I don't know, whatever I need when I go home from Wi-Fi on the laptop
-good and sensitive FM radio reception with RDS
-the camera it has (it's good to have in a mobile) I see it as a bonus for a need
-because there was a mention the Greek keyboard on mine is first if the Greek language is selected (I imagine an issue from the import batches)
-phone call recording
-very helpful the flashlight here in the village at night
-with the right USB cable (not all work) it connects to PC for transferring photos/videos/music
-without problem on a 32GB card don't get bigger ones because they have a different format and will have issues
Disadvantages for me
-in case of a missed call/text it does show a notification/indication permanently/continuously on the screen but the light goes off (it has up to one hour) and you have to press a button to wake the screen from standby/awaiting which turns off the light to see if there is any notification
-in texts/messages there are no inbox, outbox, sent they have all been combined depending on the time period they were made in this model
-calendar up to 25 events
The most basic WITHOUT software issues, I consider it okay only if found at a good price
EDIT after 7 years the battery has swollen, with just 8 euros we get another like the original
I have been using a mobile phone since 1993. I have changed countless mobiles and have followed the entire evolution since then, ending up with the combination of using a simple mobile and a tablet with a SIM card.
I have had the Nokia 3310 in my possession for over 3 years in daily continuous use. It has NEVER disappointed me in anything because I don't forget that it is a simple PHONE. Clear screen, distinct ringtone, decent sound quality, consistent battery life, durability against falls, simple phonebook.
Anyone who wants a mobile device to take photos, browse the internet, send or receive emails, play games, talk on Viber, etc., should look elsewhere because I suspect you will suffer from withdrawal symptoms. However, if you want a phone that fits in your pocket, is durable, and won't be stolen by thieves, then get this one. That's it!
Very good and reliable mobile phone. For someone who doesn't want to carry a smartphone with them, it is perfect since it is small in size and fits even in the smallest pockets. Also, it is a very ideal mobile phone for someone who is not interested in social media. It takes decent basic photos. It has a fairly large storage space for music and 3gp videos, as it has the ability to expand memory with a microSD card up to 32 GB. You can save notes. In the calendar, you can save reminders, which can be heard even when the phone is closed (unlike some other mobile phones that have Android & kaiOS system, where reminders are only heard when the device is open). Its battery is very good, with moderate use it lasts 6-7 days. The sound is normal when you talk. It also has a flashlight, so it is very helpful at night when you find yourself in the dark or in case of a power outage at home.
As soon as we received the device, we activated it but because we noticed that it DOES NOT HAVE EITHER A GREEK MENU OR A GREEK KEYBOARD (Now it has been corrected in the description), we communicated with the store and so we will return it back.
I do not have an opinion to express, but it should be stated somewhere or the lack of it, as I imagine that just like for us, it may make it impossible for other elderly people to use the phone.
3 out of 4 devices are defective. The 2 shut down unexpectedly and without reason, and in the 3rd device, half of the keys do not work. No connection whatsoever with the old reliable genuine Nokia phones that we loved.
It is a simple feature phone, any comparison with a smartphone is incorrect. The only thing I wanted it to have was a better camera like the old feature phones from Nokia
I recently bought the mobile phone, everything is perfect and no one can complain about the price, for such a nice phone. Also, it does everything that is described. Very honest device.
I got it yesterday thinking I got a Nokia... terrible menu and difficult. I spent how long searching to find how to change the SIM card pin. When the battery runs out, it sounds like a chicken being slaughtered... unlocking it was difficult, but what I didn't expect is the simplest operating system where the number doesn't appear in the contacts and you have to press the central button once to show it to you... that's it. As for the rest, like camera, photos, and videos, I don't know and I'm not interested because I have a smartphone.
So I decided to leave a good smartphone (Xiaomi Mi Mix 2) and go for something simpler but legendary because of its name. I have been completely satisfied because I mainly use the phone for calls, so there was no point in keeping the Xiaomi. Its screen is quite good for its size. As for the camera, don't expect anything amazing from 2 MP, but with a little improvement on the computer, I can say that the images are acceptable, although the video quality is tragic. It has a very good speaker because I generally listen to music and I am satisfied, it sounds perfect especially with high-quality headphones. One negative thing I found is that the back cover scratches quite easily, so I would recommend a case, although it is very difficult to find one here. It is a simple phone, not suitable for gaming or internet browsing, but if you use it for calls and messages, then I believe it is the best.
I find it absolutely unacceptable that it does not support multiple entries. That means you can only save ONE number under a name, like:
George mobile
George home
George work
...for just one contact...COME ON
So the list gets filled with hundreds of names
Not to mention they didn't make it functionally in a way that you can see which number you're calling because it doesn't show on the screen...
What's the point of having a camera or a screen when they haven't improved the BASIC thing which is the contact list.
I regret buying it just for this, as I didn't expect it at all since my Nokia mobile, which is 13+ years old, still has this capability...
Mobile purchased for the hours I will be at work because I didn't want to carry a smartphone.
Build quality: Average for a user who spends 40+ euros, and poor compared to other phones for less money. The back cover creaks. Overall, it does not have loose construction elements, but it is not worth 40+ euros. The mobile phone slips a lot, and if you put it in your pocket, it easily falls out and you have to search for it.
Call quality: Excellent. No difference from a smartphone.
Signal: Also excellent. No complaints.
Battery: It seems small in absolute terms, but it is more than sufficient. The standby time without using it every three minutes is indeed long.
Screen: The truth is that you expected less from a simple phone, and its screen is of good quality with nice colors and good lighting. The resolution is good enough so that you don't strain your eyes.
Headphones: Quite good and high-quality, and the music sounds very good.
Speaker: Satisfactory.
Keypad: Not good at all. It is very small, and the distances between the keys are very small, which makes it difficult for you. The middle key is not ergonomic at all, and with the call rejection key, you notice that the rejection and the shortcut menu are pressed together. This is not good at all. The keyboard has a soft and unclear function, and in the cold, your fingers get tired.
Camera: It's a shame that it even exists because it has too many flaws. Its only use is for taking a photo in a situation where you have an accident or some other event that requires evidence. Anyway... I don't even evaluate it because it was something that such a phone did not need.
General conclusion:
The truth is that many users who want a simple solution for a simple phone that only does the absolute essentials will say that it is an expensive phone and that there are cheaper options available. But I think that the population that Nokia targeted was not the grandparent or the person who just wants a phone, but the person who actually uses a smartphone and simply wants to have an alternative phone, either to not carry the smartphone to work or to escape the stress of online updates during vacations... Whatever the case may be.
Nokia took advantage of the fact that it is indeed the only company that knew how to make a feature phone correctly, intended for simple everyday use as an alternative to smartphones, and created a phone that was priced quite high compared to the competition. However, it is also a difficult category of phones where the cheaper ones usually struggle to convince a smartphone user that they are truly worth it as an alternative for work or vacations, resulting in you spending 15-20 euros and giving up after 2 weeks of use, wasting your money and going back to "smartphone always and everywhere". So from this perspective, the purchase is worth it if you truly are a person who needs such a purchase. Otherwise, if you are just looking for a phone, there are other cheaper and perhaps better and more convenient options.
There is a problem with the signal. While you see that you have full signal, when you speak, the lines start to drop and the other person can't hear you. At first, I thought that the specific device had a problem, but I tried with two other identical devices and it still had the same problem. Obviously, not many people who use it have noticed it. Otherwise, it is a very simple, small, and nice phone.
Guys, I don't know what good you have seen in such a simple mobile phone, but I bought it solely for its battery and I am extremely disappointed. With regular professional use, its battery only lasts for 4 days, while the Nokia 225 easily lasted at least 6 days. However, I have a small reservation because I haven't spoken to anyone who has it, maybe mine is ultimately problematic and drains the battery.
For those who want a simple mobile phone, it is a good choice and it reminds of the old Nokia 3310 in a modern version.
Advantages: Generally simple to use, very good build quality and materials, a screen that does not scratch easily. Quite good battery life. It is resistant to drops. It has a strong flash and takes good photos compared to others in its category.
Disadvantages: Low sound quality. You can't easily distinguish incoming from outgoing messages in the menu... Greek characters are at the end of the font and it takes a long time to type them. You can't move a reminder in the calendar by simply changing the date, but you have to write it all over again. It doesn't have a good quality-price ratio (I bought it for 59 euros), I don't think it's worth more than 40 euros.
Very good mobile phone for those who want it as a second device or even as a first one for those who do not need the internet. It has a good speaker and microphone for calls and its camera is excellent for the price of the mobile phone. It is so thin and so light that you end up searching for it while it is in your pocket.
The mobile is aimed at vintage lovers, so buying it means you're tired of smartphones. You can have it as a backup phone that won't betray you when it comes to battery life. The new trend is gradually moving in that direction, as people are tired of feeling watched or having their activity recorded. (Personally, for the internet, I choose a tablet or a small laptop, the 2 in 1). I'm tired of the social aspect of the internet because it simply doesn't exist. Plus, everything is spoken... unnecessary stress. Not only do we hear the nonsense and lies at home, but we'll also hear them on the go LOL. #liveforthemoment is the new phase
Very nice small but also lightweight mobile. It's worth its money and I believe it could be one of the best phones on the market (in its category, of course).
Simple, user-friendly, convenient. Comes in nice colors. Lightweight and fits everywhere. For the older ones to remember and the younger ones to learn! Cheap and extremely easy to use.
For simple use limited to calls, it is ideal. Its battery lasts long and that is its advantage. Elegant and beautiful design, lightweight, small, and easy to use. Of course, its camera is not suitable for many things, but you can take a simple photo. As for internet use, it doesn't offer much. Finally, its speaker is powerful and provides clear communication. In general, a simple and good mobile phone for everyday use.
