  This is the best 1st generation Ryzen 8-core.

  The R7-1800X is still a good multitasking tool today, with performance that is not significantly inferior to that of later CPUs in the same family. In several tasks/uses (except for gaming at 1080p), I don't think a noticeable difference can be observed compared to 8-core Zen+ (2000 series) and even Zen2 (3000 series) up to 6 cores. There is also the possibility of overclocking all cores depending on the motherboard/UEFI BIOS, so this specific CPU has the ability to achieve benchmark scores very close to the R7-2700X.

  As for temperatures, this is a hot processor only under certain conditions: it requires high voltages (1.4+) to reach (or slightly exceed) 4GHz on all cores, if you attempt it. It is possible that this issue is better addressed in the more recent - and possibly better manufactured - chips. However, in stock/light overclock settings, the temperatures are okay and it does not require any additional investment for cooling.

  Nevertheless, at its current price (245€+), it does not offer good value for money in my opinion, as for an additional +30-35€, you can get the 3700X with a cooler. In reality, the price of the 1800X should be at least 60-70€ lower. Therefore, it is preferable to look for a used one and you will come out as winners.

  The first generation of the RYZEN empire. The amazing machine that shattered Intel and forced it to lower its prices by 50%, but it still runs and doesn't disappoint.
  I have been using it for about 3 years on a Gigabyte AX370-Gaming K7 motherboard in a horizontal position with a Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 cooler with 2 silent fans. It runs on Windows 10 and has never crashed. It works for 5-10 hours a day and the highest temperature I have seen is 35°C.
  On YouTube, it plays 1080p videos with the CPU at 10-17%, while in Corel Video Studio X7 and Pinnacle Studio 17, the CPU reaches 35-40% usage. Only in Premiere 2018 does it reach 85%. I don't have any games to test.
  The RYZEN family is highly recommended, "RYZEN AND NOTHING ELSE".
  If I ever change it, I will get a Threadripper, never Intel again.
  I RECOMMEND: Get RYZEN 5 or 7 on a motherboard that has an M2 slot. They are 10 times faster than SSDs and 100 times faster than IDEs. Read the compatible RAM list from the motherboard's website. Get a Bronze or Gold-rated power supply, don't go for low-quality ones as they can damage the motherboard.

  The best you can get for 250€... In my opinion, if you mainly use the computer for gaming, I would recommend this one over the i7...
  Temperatures are incredibly low even with the CPU cooler that comes with the case... So in the future, if you get a good fan, you can easily overclock.

  I use it for image editing, video editing, and music production while also playing two demanding games. Everything has been great so far, especially in combination with the Asrock Taichi x370. It overclocks pretty well up to 4000mhz at 1.40 vcore, but a 7700 has better single core performance and unfortunately many music applications still rely on that for real-time processing.

  The price-quality ratio is the best you can have, I recommend pairing it with a good 3200mhz memory or higher to enhance the infinity fabric and get better performance.

  No issues so far, and it seems like I will sell it to get the upcoming Threadripper since AMD seems to be changing the game.

  The new AMD series is nice. It has more to offer than the old one. The Ryzen7 series doesn't offer anything more than an i7 at the same price, maybe the i7 is even a little better in my opinion. I compared it with the i7-6850K.

  The Ryzen5 series is better in terms of price-performance ratio compared to the i5.

  For those thinking of investing up to $300 for a processor, choose Ryzen5, for the rest stick with the i7 you already have
