Description

A world-historical event, such as Greece's involvement in World War II, is determined by many factors, as well as by the speed at which events unfold, making it difficult to accurately record everything that has happened. Although we knew all this, we decided to tackle the critical period of the Italian attack, the Greek counterattack, and the German intervention, which led to the occupation of Greece by the Axis forces and the transfer of the free Greek government to Alexandria. The accurate description of the events was combined with the painstaking work involved in producing a documentary. This meant, in addition to studying the Greek, British, Italian, and German archives, the deployment of film crews to Epirus, Macedonia, Crete, Albania, Rome, and Alexandria, the locations where the events took place. The result is such that it is complemented by historical evidence, both written and photographic, as well as the newsreels of the time. We believe that we have already been tested by our readers with the production of previous audiovisual albums, concerning 1922, 1912-13, and 1453, which received widespread, unprecedented acceptance. This album, like the previous ones, we hope will become an essential addition to your family library. Nikos Margaritis
