According to common consensus, in recent decades aggression, violence, brutal behavior, and destructiveness are phenomena that abound in our society, and that concern both our spiritual leaders and shepherds, as well as the scientific community in general.

Our Church Fathers, with their deep experience and knowledge of the human soul, consider that violence, destructiveness, and unrestrained behavior are often the offspring of pride and, by extension, of anger and wrath: "Are they passions of anger? Wrath, bitterness, shouting, irritability, audacity, rage, arrogance, and anything else," says Saint Gregory of Sinai. In other words, anger, bitterness, shouting, irritability, audacity, rage, arrogance, and many others are passions that stem from anger." [...]
