This book examines traditional dance as an object of education. It critically examines, through institutional texts (educational laws, curricula, and textbooks), the long presence of dance in the school program and highlights its correlations with the respective educational and, directly connected to the construction of Greek identity, ideological-social framework. It aims to contribute, by presenting contemporary scientific views, to a better understanding of dance as a cognitive object and by proposing innovative teaching suggestions for its more effective utilization in school practice.
