I bought it solely to have direct access to Compact Flash cards, without using an external card reader. It was installed and worked immediately without any problems. I haven't measured the speeds, as I don't unload material daily and it doesn't concern me that much. However, in the two months of operation, reading/copying files from the Compact Flash card is interrupted and, several times, the connection is lost without returning. I haven't tried it with other cards, the USB input works normally without any issues.

It worked immediately. While with an external card reader I can download from an SD card at about 70-80 MB/s, with this one it doesn't exceed 38 MB/s. I tried connecting it to the other port of the motherboard but nothing changed. I suspect it has to do with the limitations of the card reader's controller. On the contrary, the USB 3.0 port provides normal speeds for an external hard drive, around 130 MB/s, just like the other ports of my PC. If you want it for very fast transfer from memory cards, it is not ideal. If you want it in order to have all the inputs consolidated on the front of the case without external cables and with satisfactory speeds, then it's fine. As for its reliability, other similar ones that have passed through my hands usually broke at the card contacts, time will tell for this one.
