Transitioning from the RX 100 first generation.
It continues to be an excellent camera in a size that fits in your pocket.
The main positives I find compared to the old one are the focal length which went from 28 mm to 24 mm, which is very good for wide-angle shots.
Another positive is the significantly more focus points (315 if I'm not mistaken), the viewfinder which, although digital, provides a very nice image, and finally the tilting screen.
The lenses (Karl Zeiss) as well as the sensor (1 inch) remain excellent.
I preferred this one over the next generations solely for the wider aperture since the zoom and the touchscreen are not things that interest me.
As for the video, a downside is that it does not have stabilization and if I'm not mistaken, it records up to 5 minutes at maximum resolution.
Due to the fact that the body is metallic and quite small, I would recommend the hand grip offered by Sony for better handling.
I paired it with a very nice leather case from Sony.
For a day trip, I believe a second battery will be needed.
The package does not include a charger; the battery charges when it is in the camera body.
I highly recommend it!Translated from Greek ·- Photos

Did you find this review helpful? The machine is not played !!!!! It is without opponent. Tremendous build quality. The sensor is of another level. It does not always focus as it should, this is true. But it has noticeable improvement. Whoever uses it will understand what I mean. It competes with machines of higher categories. Sony perhaps creates the best camera sensors in the world. As for the lens, it can be described in one word. It is bright and performs exceptionally well in low light with appropriate ISO. This particular machine has a slightly complex menu. But it is easy to learn. It has good customization. It is an expert compact camera and is recommended for both amateurs and professionals. The lens in one word. CARL ZEISS !!!!!!!!

Excellent camera, first in its category. Exceptional, sharp lens, very bright with f1.8 and excellent for night shots! Especially with the multiple photos for ISO combination (multiple frame method), you will forget that it has a type 1 sensor. Amazing portraits and macro photography. The 4K video speaks for itself, with excellent slow motion...! Amazing shutter speed (32,000) and phase detection for capturing moving subjects at 16fps. You won't believe the photos this little camera produces!!!
On the negative side: the focusing issue, although it has improved quite a bit, Sony cameras always focus wherever they want in automatic mode at least, its battery (you will definitely need a second one even for amateur use), the lack of an external battery charger, it costs an additional 55€ to buy it separately, its complex menu that will take time for you to get used to. Of course, the excessive price of the camera.
Highly recommended for every photography enthusiast, who has delved a little deeper into the hobby, even for professional photographers who want a pocket camera for every use, at any time.
