Description

The Ibanez JEMJR electric guitar is aimed at musicians and guitarists who desire a guitar with exceptional design and many sound customization options.

It is a guitar designed by the famous guitarist Steve Vai and features a Meranti body, maple neck, and jatoba fingerboard. It is equipped with three Ibanez Quantum pickups, allowing for different playing styles.

It is ideal for guitarists involved in rock, metal, and fusion music who are looking for a guitar with a strong character and sound versatility.

HSH Pickup Configuration (Humbucker-Single Coil-Humbucker)

In the HSH pickup configuration, there are two single-coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions, as well as a humbucker pickup in the middle. This setup offers a wide variety of sounds for the guitarist.

The single-coil pickup in the bridge position offers a clean, clear sound that is ideal for speed and playing at high frequencies.

The single-coil pickup in the neck position provides a warmer, fuller sound that is better for playing at lower frequencies, while the middle humbucker pickup offers a balanced sound that is perfect for rhythm playing and solos.

Additionally, Ibanez pickups are passive and do not require external power to operate. Specifically, passive pickups work using magnetism and produce a signal that is inversely proportional to the movement of the strings.

Body Shape ST

The ST body shape it features follows the lines of one of the most widespread electric guitars, like the Stratocaster. Its design has a double-cut body for access to the highest frets and an extended "horn" on the upper side that offers perfect balance during upright playing.

With a wide range of supporters, including Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly, David Gilmour, and Jeff Beck, it is clear that the ST Style shape can handle virtually any musical style.

Monkey grip

One of the most recognizable features of the JEM is Steve Vai's signature monkey grip.

Wizard III maple neck

The thin, flat, and fast Ibanez Wizard neck is strong, durable, and features two-octave frets for a wide tonal range.

Jatoba Fingerboard Tree-of-life inlay

The fretboard of the JEMJR has 24 frets and is made from Jatoba wood, which has a fairly high degree of hardness and durability. It features a reddish-brown color and produces a balanced, rich sound in the low and mid frequencies.

The collaboration with Steve Vai

Steve Vai is a famous guitarist and composer who has collaborated with Ibanez.

Their collaboration began in 1985 when Vai asked Ibanez to make him a guitar with special features that would allow him to play his complex musical pieces. This guitar was the Ibanez JEM, which became very popular in the guitarist community.

Since then, their collaboration continues, and they have worked together to create many other guitars, such as the Ibanez Universe, JEM2, and JEM7V. These guitars have many unique details, such as decorative elements on the headstock and the body of the guitar.

Steve Vai's collaboration with Ibanez has created a series of exceptional guitars, loved by many guitarists and associated with the sound and style of Steve Vai.
