Clear- Carbide: They have great durability and can be sterilized. They are ideal for removing semi-permanent, gel, and acrylic.
- Ceramic: They are more suitable for young technicians or for household use as they do not easily create a burning sensation in case of incorrect or too intense use. They are used more for the removal of semi-permanent and can be sterilized.
- Diamond Cutter: Due to their hardness, they remove accumulated material but create more dust.
- Silicone: They help smooth out nails as well as dry skin or calluses.
- Pumice: They are suitable for hard skin, nail removal, nail polishing, and can be disinfected.
- Cone: A cone-shaped burr. The bottom part is wider and narrows as it goes up. It is ideal for material removal, nail shaping, or shaping artificial nails.
- Barrel: Cylindrical grinder with smooth or rounded (safety) head, ideal for material removal, pedicure or nail shaping.
- Flame: The base and tip of the drill bit are narrower than the middle and are ideal for removing nails.
- Ball: With a ball on the head of the drill, ideal for manicures or pedicures.
- Needle: A thin and seamless bur where the head is not separate from the body and is ideal for nail, lateral wall, and podiatric work.

- Roughness: The color on the milling cutters determines its roughness. The rougher the surface, the more material it removes.
